History
The life of a mage can be a hard one.
All the magic you can attempt tries to kill you in the worst way possible. The only thing worse than that can be trying your best to get better at it, and only do the most minor of party tricks.
Ignard was born in Zeltiva to a rather normal family. His father was a shipwright and his mother a merchant. As a child his mother taught him the basics of magic. Making the water ripple and causing the earth to shift came very easily to him. When time came for him to start helping out he used the bit of magic he learned to catch fish in bubbles as an odd form of fishing.
As he grew older so did his thirst for knowledge, he became a student at the university and begun learning how to do a few other things. Any times he wasn't studying, Ignard was either 'fishing' or helping his father build ships.
