Glow Sticks are a good comparison. Though they can be as bright or as dim (to the point of not even glowing!) as the player wants them to be keeping in mind that a good majority of the stars are like glow sticks. Dimmer or brighter stars are rarer. If you want something super bright then prepare to have quite the journey ahead of your ICly trying to find and catch a star. The brighter they are, the faster they move, the overall harder they are to catch! Likewise the dimmer they are the slower they move. So dull ones may just 'stand there' suspended in the air or just move really slow.

That is just a general guideline. This is the city of illusion after all. I just want people to have fun with them and create all sorts of neat nicknacks.

aww I thought I found some kind of loop hole I was hoping the eating glowing magical things could cause my character to glow and maybe temporarily grow a third eye ball or something.

Could you turn the beads into plants? Like herbs?

And if made into herbs and later medicine or poison do they provide extra properties or are they just shiny potions? (if they can be turned into herbs to make the potions/ointments/poultices/everything herbalists make in their wicked little shops).

In the spirit of Alvadas' season theme, I have invited some of you to a social thread. This is really meant for everybody (but not everyone had listed themselves in the cast when I sent the PM), the idea is to pull everyone together to meet and not be strangers.

I would like to collaborate more with everyone, and hopefully this serves as a springboard!

I took your names from this season's attendance list and figured we should all get to know one another as residents of Alvadas.

I would like to invite everyone to a topsy-turvy socialization thread that involves us gathering Ionus stars. I am a fan of getting immersed into the city lore, so maybe we can all explore this season's theme together?

The plot I have is this, as a gadgeteer I would be making a device that allows for easier star catching. The idea is that you are gathering stars in the same area, and you notice my thingamajigger and request to borrow it. Ever the businesswoman I will say that I will let a person rent it for a quarter of a bell (15 minutes) for 1 gm. Maybe you will, maybe you won't. Now we have at least the group talking,

I will ask about
1) how long you've been staying in Alvadas, how you find life in Alvadas
2) what are your plans in the near future (I'm planning on building/buying my own house in Alvadas)

and then you can put in topics that you also desire. So we can all get to know one another and not be strangers. As we hang out we discuss about life in Alvadas, and my character feels part of the community. Now at the end of the thread, as people have gathered their own stars, Jil will say she doesn't need your money anymore, and she will hand out glowing friendship bracelets instead.

I'm laying out a skeleton of what I'll be doing, but you are all free to pitch in ideas. I am aiming for a lighthearted and friendly thread. Sounds like a cool idea?

Reading the question about the bread got me to wondering, as Artur is an aspiring cook as well. So I now have a curious question.

So I understand the concept of receiving the material's to make the bread, but what of simpler items or foods? Say I desired a fruit or vegetable, would it give me that desired food instead?

Can you turn the beads into a liquid substance? Like dye, or water?
And what would happen if one did drink or eat a Star?
Is it possible to dye hair, skin or cloth with a dye made from Ionu's Stars?

By the way. how should we keep track of how many stars we get? Will you award us stars at the end of star catching threads or should we just say that our character has been chasing stars inbetween threads and note the ammount of time spent per week hunting em or something like that?

I'm new...ish around these parts, but I'm planning to start here. Waiting on some character sheet questions, the completion of my avatar finding adventure, and then probably have some cleaning up to do before I can join you, but thought I'd say hi and start looking into what's going on.
