10th of Summer - 517 AV
A fluttering wind brought with it the pollen from the flowers, blowing them down the streets of Alvadas. Summer had brought with it some different weather and even though it was hotter, it was more diverse too. Some flowers had already shed their seeds and died, others had only just begun their summer visit to the world. Aenisa covered herself from a sudden, strong gust of wind that came crashing into her, getting seeds and pollen in her eyes only made them itch. Much of her days were spent moving between different locations, the farm, the home, the woods, the bizarre. Aenisa hadn’t gotten much closer in these last few days to an answer on her victims, feeling that she somehow had gotten stuck.
It wasn’t fair how the world worked sometimes, Aenisa wanted to exact her revenge for what she considered to be a legit reason and yet, the world refused. Not only had Aenisa come to the realisation that her skills as an investigator and stealth extraordinaire were severely lacking. On top of it all, Aenisa was stuck not knowing how to even reach the people except for one of them, and even then, she had a façade of a house to go on. Things needed to move quicker, things needed to progress at a faster pace so that she can know peace. They say that the ghosts are stuck because they have something to finish, she used to scoff at this but now, it made sense. She had to finish it too.
The sun seemed to shift in strength as she walked down the street, matching each colour of the houses perfectly. The rainbow of colours that were on display were greatly enhanced and created something of a euphoric feeling in Aenisa. She was in a sore mood but still, just the general feel and look of the houses had picked her spirits right up. She wasn’t alone either, all along the street she could see people visibly changing their mood as soon as they entered the road. It was the type of an illusion or reality that Aenisa badly needed some days.
It was creeping closer to midday and Aenisa was growing hungrier by the chimes that past her by, it was no idea to head back home for something to eat. Looking around for something to eat as she walked down the streets instead. Figuring that she could buy something as easy as a loaf of bread or something lighter to eat, just that she needed to get some food. At the next street, she decided to give in and enter a bakery that she happened to pass by, the fourth such establishment in the last three streets.
Getting a loaf of bread from the bakery she was a silver coin out of pocket but at least she wouldn’t have to starve for the rest of the day. It was a big plus that the city offered establishments of different types all along the city at least. Normally she would have planned it better but the day had been hectic and then she had gotten lost in thought again. Aenisa needed to find some place to sit down and eat her improvised lunch as she wanted to sort out her thoughts for a little bit, plan. Create a real tactic as to how she might tackle the problem alone, she had not seen Foxface since the day and assumed him to be gone. After a couple of streets, Aensia ended up near a huge maze of sorts that seemed to stretch on for longer than it should. At least the area seemed calm enough so that she could enjoy her food in relative quiet.
“This be good.” She told herself as she walked up onto a small patch of grass near the maze and sat down, not really caring about anyone that passed her by. Living in Alvadas for the still, relatively short amount of time that she had, had made her care less for other people in the area. Leaning up against a small wall in the area she kicked off her shoes and then ripped a piece from her loaf, chewing on it as she was thinking for herself.
Next to her another man took his seat and looked out across the maze in front of them both. “Nice thing, huh?” He asked in a calm and casual tone as he glanced over at Aenisa before focusing back ahead again. Caught a little off-guard by the fact that he was initiating a conversation with her she inspected the man for a short moment before she shrugged. “It is better than the Sanity Center.” She replied as she then looked back out to the maze again, taking another bite from her loaf before she ripped off a piece. Looking at the man again she offered the piece and asked. “You want?”. He shook his head slowly and then offered a smile at Aenisa before speaking again. “Thanks but no thanks. What you doing here anyways? Not too many come here.”
What was Aenisa really doing at the maze? It was a question that she didn’t really know the answer to herself and yet, it should have been easy to answer. For a moment, Aenisa felt as if she had been trapped in a corner but then it slowly started to come back to her again, why she was there. “I looking for someone. Don’t know where they live, I go here. I need find them.” She said. There had to be someone around who could help her find what she was searching for, surely, she wasn’t alone in trying to find someone. The best thing would be if she could find them herself with the help of someone, a deep frown on her features as she sunk deep into thoughts. She knew there were people around that had the skills that she needed, she was just unsure where they might be at. After a moment of silence the man slowly nodded his head. “I see. Why?” he asked curiously, eyeing Aenisa from her head to her toes as if that would reveal her intentions. “They must pay me. You know someone who find people?” Asking this straight out to the man made her feel a little silly but at the same time, it wasn’t an odd request she figured. She took another chunk from her loaf as she waited to see what the man might answer with.
