4th winter 510 AV

Giacinto looked at the people walking past his alley with barely concealed envy on his face. Why was it that, he! The great giacinto Santino was killed and not one of them! Wishing he could still slap himself for envying those inferior people he pushed the feeling away from the front of his mind, He would just find a body that was up to his standards in this crowd and grace them with his presence.

Carefully he concentrated on the swirling mist swirling inside his etherial body carefully manipulating it so that it wrapped around his ghostly body letting him look more or less like a normal person as long as you didn't give him more then a passing glance and noticed the flickers and rough edges.
Not waiting to waste anymore precious time. He awkwardly mimicked walking as he stepped out of the alley, most of the time his ghostly body just floated to where he wanted to go remembering that he had to move his legs in exactly the right way to be believable was a bit hard.

Anyway disregarding the few weird glances in his direction, He couldn't help it if they where jalous of his talent, everything went fine and he looked around to find a suitable host for a while.

The ghost in town [naya][open]

Postby Naya on January 24th, 2011, 4:14 am

Naya was walking home - again from the Red Diamond Tavern. It was a regular resting place of hers. She supposed she really should cut down on the amount of time she spent there, the amount of money, too. All that drink probably was not a good thing. But she simply did not have anything else to do.

She was walking home when, ahead of her, she spotted a man who looked like they were having trouble walking. The way he shifted made his whole body rock from side to side, almost tilting over. It looked as if he were a man who has just discovered how to walk, after long years of waiting, and was desperately attempting to walk like everyone else.

She walked quickly and quietly up behind this strange man. Usually, she would throw herself in front of him and make a giant scene, drawing attention to herself and gaining several delighted glances from passersby (usually mingled with glares, but Naya often chose to ignore those). There was something however about this man that made her take pause - a deep uneasiness settled inside her stomach, as if this man - if he could be called that - should not be here. And by here, Naya did not mean the physical location of this street. The man should not even exist.

Of course that was all just a gut feeling, and probably the product of an active imagination. It was widely known that Naya did indeed have a stunning imagination - how else would she tell such exciting stories? Therefore, throwing all caution to the wind, and ignoring her instincts, she flung herself in front of the man and exclaimed loudly, "Good sir! Are you alright? Do you need some help? Perhaps to be taught how to walk!" She bowed low, flourishing her body, looking down to the ground and not into the stranger's face at all.

Giancinto quickly stopped when a rather tall women flung herself before him.
"Good sir! Are you alright? Do you need some help? Perhaps to be taught how to walk!"
The woman said in an arrogant and loud tone trying to draw all the attention towards her.
Both that and the rather scathing remark irked the now dead actor to no end.
"Well of course I am all right, thank you for asking." He winched when he heard his own voice, while it did sound normal but it was like it didn't even came from his mouth.
Not easily deterred Giacinto continued to talk hoping that the other people didn't pick up on the flaws in his disguise.
"Though I wonder, are you always this starved for attention or is it just something that comes and goes." A rather crude smirk slowly made his way on his flickering face.
"I understand you however, it must be so hard to have somebody care or look into your direction when you are such a talentless being as you are. Now if you excuse me I have better things to do with my time then amuse fools like you."
Just as he made way to walk around the irritating woman he felt his soulmist slowly slip away from his grasp, it kinda felt like you where holding a large weight that slowly but surely pained your fingers until you had to let go, nothing that he could do could stop it and in a few moments time the color had drained from his entire figure and he slowly became as translucent again as most ghost where when they came into existence. Ignoring a few surprised yells from the crowd he glared at the women.
"Now look what you done!" He yelled, his disembodied ghostly voice sounding like it came from a fair distance away. "If you didn't held me up this wouldn't have happened!"

She remained bowed, nose almost touching her knee, flourished as a squire might bow to a knight. It was only when she heard the man's voice that she peaked her head upwards, a crack in her performance shining through.

The voice was deep and manly, quite attractive as it were, but it did not seem to be coming from the man before her. Rather, it seemed to come from all around, whispering through the wind and reaching Naya's ears with a chill down her spine. Though eerie, she disregarded it as the side effects of a night with her one true love, ale.

Her posture let up, her back slowly clicking, vertebrae by vertebrae, until you was fully upright, looking into the strange eyes of the man before her. Starved for attention? Well, it might be true, but it's not like people COMPLAIN when they are graced with the presence of the magnificent Naya Snowsong.

She opened her mouth, indignant, about to speak - but the man continued his rain of insults. Cutting him off before he made to move away, she shouted out. "I am neither talentless nor attention seeking. It is not my fault if my boundless talent serves to grace the rest of the population! No one complains of my presence, for it is loved." She sniffed and made to turn away, when something strange happened.

Several yells from the surrounding crowd made Naya turn her head back to observe the crowd, and see what was causing such a commotion. With a horrified gasp, she saw what had happened. Where there was once the well dressed, handsome man, there now stood a transparent, colourless shape, hinting at a human form much like the one who had previously been insulting Naya.

She gasped as he spoke to her, stumbling back a few steps, wanting to get away from this phantom - but natural curiosity holding her to the spot. "What... what are you?"

Adairia was on the hunt for a story, and she knew just the person to full fill her with one to tell. People could say that Adairia had became obsessed with Naya and they wouldn’t be far from the truth. The young Vantha was enthralled with the older women. Naya always seemed to be teemed with action that were just to good to not tell and embellish just a little bit. Adairia walked into a huge commotion of people. Her heart leapt their was defiantly a story to get here. Pushing through the crowed wanting to see what Naya was up to now.

Oh it was delightful seeing Naya taken down by some hot figure, Adairia had to laugh at it all but then things went from funny to slightly creepy the handsome man turned into a phantom character. This was turning into a very interesting day, Adairia goes up to the phantom pushing away all her fear and beaming with curiosity. “Hello, I am Adairia who are you? Its so nice to meet you what happened to you?….” The questioning went on and on she didn’t even notice Naya near by.

Giacinto smiled when he saw the woman back away from away in shock.
"What I am? Dear lord are you even unknowing about something as ghosts?" he let out a ghostly laugh sending chills up the spines of the more cowardly people in the group.
"It seems you are both talentless and unknowing, So don't delude yourself with your illusions of grandeur, I bet you are some petty wench that sits in a tavern all day drowning her sorrows in cheap ale."Giacinto said in a haughty tone before turning away from the women.
"Now if you excuse me, being in your presence makes makes sitting naked on a block of ice in the middle of a blizzard seem an attractive choice." He made motion to go away but was stopped when out of nowhere a young vantha teenager stopped right in front of her firing of more questions then he thought was humanly possible.
"My name is Giacinto santino, remember it, you'll hear it a lot later in your life and what happened isn't really your business is it." A smile crept on his face, possessing her was fairly impossible with this crowd surrounding her right now.But still she looked like a rather naive kid that he could overpower. So he decided to deal with her for a moment. "Though I might answer your other questions if you repeat them at a normal speed." He gave her a smile that could have been called charming if it wasn't on his ghostly face.

The ghost in town [naya][open]

Postby Naya on January 26th, 2011, 12:51 am

A chill went up her spine. A ghost. A phantom of a darker world, the imprinted soul of a dearly departed, still clinging to the earthly remains of this world, never to move on to Somewhere Else... Actually, that sounded quite good in her mind.

Naya made a note to use that in one of her stories. A ghostly character who insulted the hell out of attractive superior girls they met on the street, sounded quite good. Maybe a romance could be thrown in there? Oh, no. She shuddered at the thought.

As the ghost began to turn away, her anger returned and her shock disappated. Talentless? Unknowing? ILLUSIONS OF GRANDEUR? The thing that stung more than anything was the dig about the tavern. Because it was true. Not that she would ever admit that. But it was, and sometimes Naya wished it wasn't.

She was about to reply indignantly when a familiar voice, a younger voice, cut through to the conversation. Adairia! What was she doing here? And conversing with the ghost - who introduced himself as Giacinto, an odd name. Adairia was a younger girl of their hold, a distant cousin of some sort, and had followed Naya around for much of her childhood years. Naya had grown quite fond and protective of the girl, though she would never say so. Running over to Adai, she wrapped a hand around her shoulder and made to tug her away.

"Adairia! What are you doing here? Stop talking to him, this ghost is not safe." Naya felt uneasy at the smile on the ghost's face - if one could call it a smile. A suggestive leer would be closer to the mark. Naya felt her anger and protectiveness rising. She'd be DAMNED if she had some undead pretentious miscreant hit on someone she regarded as her own little sister.

Emee walked down the street happily, and with a purse of mizas in his hand. He was on his way to Master Warren, not to work, but to be a customer. He had seen a lovely cape last time he was with him, and hoped he had enough money to buy it. His ever curious self stopped up and looked at a little crowd standing in the middle of the streets. They seemed to form a circle around someone, and Emee thought it would be artists of some sort, maybe performing some sort of trick to get attention and money from the crowd. Maybe one of the famous Vantha stories being told? Even though Emee hadn't seen anything, he moved closer and tried to get a glance at what was standing in the middle.

He was lower than most of the Vantha, and the crowd was too thick to see through, but with his slender body he moved like a cat through the crowd-pushing one man slightly to the side and slipping into the gap created before it was filled with anyone else, dodging an elbow, and elegantly being stomped to the ground as he tried crouching further in. With a shock he pushed the foot off him and crawled away with all eight limbs to the ground, luckily finding himself in the middle of the ring now. He turned away from the crowd, and his smile was dried away by an indescribable facial expression. "Soul?", was all he managed to say as he stared wonderingly at a ghostly man accompanied by two women.

The ghost’s words to Naya had Adairia laughing, she really did like the older woman but the fall of the prideful was just to funny. So with a giddy smile still on her puerile lips and her mirthful laughter still ringing through the air she looked to Naya trying to look apologetic but not really mastering it. Hearing the ghost turning his attention to her Adairia finally managed to stop laughing. She didn’t trust the figure but she was just to curious to leave his presence as any smart person would do but she was a fool when she sensed a good story brewing.

“I am Adairia it is nice to meet you Mr. Giacinto santino, If you must refuse to me your story then could you please sate my curiosity on a little about yourself, and explain how just a moment ago you looked solid and now, pardon me for being blunt you now are transparent” Adairia noticed the smile and shivered the situation was getting more creepier by the moment. Oh why couldn’t she just turn and walk away why did her curiosity make her stand there. She felt Naya’s arms around trying to pull her away but Adairia was stubborn and refused to leave with the older woman. They were drawing quite a crowed now, she could feel them pressing closer their curiosity was almost tangible, it brought a smile to the girls lips this was going to be interesting to say the least.

Gaincito raised an nonexistent eyebrow when she asked him about how he looked solid a few moments ago, was that all she wanted to know about him? No asking him the ears off his head to learn about his marvelous exploits in acting? His ego got a slight hit from that but he quickly shacked it of
"Well that is fairly hard to explain actually. Because I don't really know how it works exactly." He said in a fairly mild tone, not really listening to the woman he just turned his back on.
"But I can explain it as good as I know." He held up his arm for her to see. inside the transparent limb one could see some slightly white mist swirling inside.
"I don't really know what that stuff is called but that doesn't matter at all," Gaincinto quickly downplayed what he didn't know before explaining the rest.
"I wrap this mist around my body and force it to take on the appearance of a living body,it takes quite a bit of skill if I may say so myself." A rather self important grin made its way on his face.
"Of course for somebody as talented as me its no problem at all."
In all the commontion before him he didn't even notice the strange creature pushing its way into the circle.
