517 av Fall 20th
The funny thing about memorable days, is for the most part they start out just like any other day, there are rarely omens when one opens their eyes telling them that something that would change their day or even their life was approaching. This does not however stop that change from coming. Another day amongst many in the commerancy was being spent in mild stagnation. Hwyn taken with the outdoor courtyard and playground the Orphanage played host to spent many of his free hours their enjoying the gentle Ravokian weather.
Even if he did not always play with the little ones keeping an eye on them was fun enough that that he didn’t mind wasting some of his time just trying to keep the peace between the rug rats. It was because he was watching them that he noticed at all what was going on, as the children stopped playing and one after the other looked to the sky, mesmerized by something high up above.
Joining them in looking up Hwyn peered past the clouds and saw It, a giant bird like none he’d ever seen before flying above the clouds like a mighty beast he couldn’t imagine how big the bird must’ve been up close even in the sky it was imposing. As the children murmured among themselves similarly confounded by it’s appearance Hwyn saw whoever it was aboard the sky bound apparition release into the sky hundreds upon hundreds of…. Papers? It didn’t make any sense to him, whatever it was the man was doing but the bird never stopped flying and the papers didn’t seem to have any end to them as the began their earthbound descent like a rain of technicolor leaves to make even a fall colored forest jealous of the many hued radiance that now rained upon the dark and somber town of Ravok.
Dancing amid the rainbow flurry of fliers the orphans snagged the paper from the air looking Up Hwyn snagged one himself to look at it but it was covered in the runes that he’d never learned. Casting his eyes about he looked for someone who could read curios as to what was worthy of being dropped upon the entire town.
