Staples, customs, traditions... What are they?

I have my own opinions regarding who eats what but I'd like to hear some of your thoughts first so that I can see where everyone's mind is on the matter.

Please contribute by giving an overall summary of you idea for the Ravokian diet or by giving a fairly detailed description of a singular dish which you feel should be in the cuisine section of the Codex (once it's added). Feel free to include what you feel might be a historical reference or story about why the dish is included. We are writers, afterall.
