Question regarding my heirloom

Hey, guys. It's Eros again.

I have got my Character Sheet sorted and there is only one thing I am unsure about: My family heirloom.

I want my Eros's heirloom to be his late father's bastard sword, but I am incredibly unsure about whether or not I am allowed to do this.

I've read the part about Family Heirlooms in the Starting Package article and I am slightly confused. A part of the article states that simple weapons are allowed and then, a few paragraphs afterward, it states that no weapons are allowed.

I am confused now. Would a bastard sword be considered a simple weapon (it costs 35 gm) or am I mistaken?

A bastard sword should be fine

The only restrictions are on magic items, so weapons enhanced by magic or gnosis marks aren’t available

But a bastard sword that isn’t magically enhanced should be fine

Sometimes the lore can be confusing. We need players to help us out to point out those places like your doing. Can I have a link to the exact lore article that has you confused so I can correct the statement?

Its any item that you could commonly get that's under 50 GM... including an animal like a dog etc. It just can't have magical properties etc.
