Winter 43, 517 After an entire day of sunlight the night was welcomed. Alex didn't know how or when the day shifted to night but she was so tired. Sleeping during the day was not something she was accustomed to and trying to sleep while the sun was out proved to be nearly impossible. With a sudden burst of energy from a second wind she decided to try her hand at cooking and would venture out to gather supplies. While she was not really sure what supplies she would need the city had always done well to provide for her in the little time she was here. With that she would go to the market. Heading to the market she didn't really know what she would need, growing up in wind reach didn't really prepare her for this kind of life. While she was not a Dek she was a Chiet for most of her life in the city and just only ranked as a Avora. Thinking back on some of the meals she had in the city she decided she could throw something together it would just be a matter of buying some fish and putting it over a fire. How hard could that be? It would take over an hour to get to the bizarre today, something it would have only taken minutes to do the day before. Getting there she saw so many stalls selling just about everything. Something she would keep an eye out would be a talon sword, something she had wished she had taken from home before she left. Back in wind reach they were all over the place, just about everyone who had any rank at all had one. Now however not a single person seemed to have one. She would have to find a blacksmith and commission one. Just as quickly as her energy had perked her back up it seemed to be fading from her body, thoughts scattered and shoulders rolled forward. The first stall she came across had weapons. Alex would scan over the table looking at each of the items, each of them seemed well made to her even if only a few would be something she was even interested in. A tall Isur women stood up and greeted her with a nod. "Hello, I am not really out to buy right now. I am just looking." The Isur women nodded at Alex's words. "These are some of the best weapons you will find in the bizarre." She picks up the nearest small bladed weapon, a dagger with a drop point and then another with a clip point. "A knife is something everyone should have at all times. You never know when you will need to cut some rope or defend yourself from a pick pocket. This knife" The clip point. "Is a good all around knife. The point on this is better for puncturing then the other." She moves the drop point signaling it. "This one is a little safer for skinning with the flatter blade and more rounded point." Setting the one in her left hand down she turns the one in her right over holding the point to the table. "This part is the spine. You can get a basic feel for the quality of a knife here. You want meat here, if its to thin it will snap off in your hand. You would probably be better off with a shard of glass in your hand." Setting it down she moves to something else. Alex nods and says. "Thank you for the information but I am not really looking to buy right now." The Isur nods. "Next time you are around maybe." With that Alex turns and leaves. Alexandra figured it was some good information to keep in mind, knowing everything had to be taken with a grain of salt. Maybe she would speak to the smith in town about more later. Now back to food, fish shouldn't be to hard to find. Walking around for a bit more she looked at people wears from a distance trying not to get to involved. After what seemed like only a few more steps she found herself in front of a bench. Turning around the nearest stall was a some 50 or so feet away. "I don't have the energy for this." She said plopping down on the bench. "Maybe if I just sit here for a moment..." |
