Every community needs a place for the people to gather in times of weddings, funerals, to hold community classes, and to just celebrate holidays. The Syka Community Events Center is one such place. Built of an enormous wooden beams, this pole building features a metal roof that the vast majority of the community drinking water is collected from. The Community Events Center is that formal gathering place for Syka that sits at the ground level and well back from the beach. It can be used as a mustering point in times of emergency since The Tidepool Bar is quickly being outgrown as a place that can fit everyone living in Syka.
Anyone can use the Community Events Center. It is adjacent to the Community Kitchen and there is no charge for its use as long as it's kept clean and trash free. There are fire pits and public torches that can be oiled up and used to light the area for after dark activities.
