Asterope, the last Featured Thread Winner, writes...
For this month's featured thread, I've picked Stargazing by Ambrosia Alar.
It's a bit of a 'day in the life' thread (or night, in this case) but rather than being potentially boring or dull, it's very sweet and fun. It really focuses on the relationship Ambrosia has with her sisters, and I find it delves into all of their personalities quite well. Especially as someone who's been following Ambrosia's plot of having her youngest sister be missing, I really loved seeing the three of them in action together. Knowing the outcome of that plot also makes this read in particular very bittersweet.
The dialogue between the sisters is well-written and comes off naturally; I really felt as if I was catching a private glimpse into the lives of three siblings rather than it just being Ambrosia and two NPCs who happen to be her sisters.
On top of that, the thread has a very whimsical feeling to it with the subject of stargazing. The story Ambrosia tells Bethany and Tessa about the Aquiras Gate constellation is lovely and riveting. It's always great to see development done in-game, and I know that Ambrosia has been working on developing constellations OOC, so reading that was delightful.
Ambrosia is overall a lovely writer; I always enjoy reading her threads, and I can't wait to see more of her in the future.
Don't forget, Ambrosia, that you need to pick one for the next round of Features and PM me by the middle of the month.
