H A N E H T • RE • A H N A T E P APPEARANCE Race: Eypharian Gender: Male Age: 19 Birthday: 47th Day, Summer, 499 AV. Birthplace: Ahnatep Appearance :
Belonging to the minority fairer Eypharians, Haneht boasts a gilded, light olive complexion that meticulous skincare keeps unblemished. Standing at a rough 6’2”, he maintains a lithe but toned physique, with a long, elegant neck, lengthy limbs and tapered pianist fingers. Glassy eyes are feline-like, a shade of amber that shines gold in the sun, complimented by a set of full brows, a prominent nose and childishly pouted lips that fit nicely onto his near symmetrical face, jawline defined. He carries with him an exotic, pheromone-induced scent that permeates the air around him and seems to reflect him well; a temptingly sweet, smokey musk, with a hint of spice.
While his roots are originally brown, Haneht is by nature, vain and consequently fashion-savvy, with a tendency to dye or tint his hair on a whim. He’s fairly familiar with make-up himself, more than he’d like to admit, and can occasionally be seen sporting some, but otherwise skips most of it (with exceptions of kohl liner and a light sheen of gold or mica dusting) to blend in more with common folk. Comfort seems to be his main focus when it comes to dressing these days, favouring loose and breezy articles of common clothing with a touch of personal style. Neht tends to pull off most things effortlessly well due to his build and the confidence he carries himself with, his most notable features, six arms aside, being his charming, boxy smile and husky voice. ✄ CONCEPT If asked, most would gladly tell you Haneht is peculiar. While elegant, charismatic and graceful, Neht possesses a child-like wonder in the way he views the world, and is generally very docile, open-minded and friendly to all he encounters. Albeit a little airy and phantasmal. A highly curious individual with an insatiable hedonistic thirst, it’s sometimes difficult to believe that this dreamy-eyed, whimsical boy is a Gilded Ephyrian. Despite his pampered, elite upbringing, he’s surprisingly adaptable and a little more humbled than the rest of his family, and while proud of his glorious heritage, has no outright bigoted racist tendencies. He is, however, greatly misinformed and uneducated about the other races that dwell in Mizahar, but is currently improving upon his knowledge in his independence. The Complexity of Haneht :
His naive, playful portrayal belies his true nature; Haneht is wickedly mischievous and at times selfish. While compassionate, he’s only empathetic to a degree and truthfully serves only himself, and is more observant and intelligent than most would give him credit for. What he lacks in physical prowess, he makes up for with a silver-tongue and cunning wits. As an erudite, he’s a very driven and meticulous learner, who takes it upon himself to seek his own answers. He can be ruthlessly ambitious if he so wishes, having been raised in a highly competitive, survival-of-the-fittest setting from birth. Haneht makes for a great companion, entertainer, playmate even, but when it comes to commitment, you’ll find that he tends to hesitate and struggle with deeper relationships. More so when it comes to romantic love — he’s a massive player, mind you. Despite his age, he’s had plenty of lovers, man and woman, and prefers shallow dalliances to serious relationships. This applies to friends as well. Ever the socialite, The boy has a wide network of acquaintances, but there are few that he sincerely considers friends and allow the privilege of truly knowing him.
Dedicated to pursuing beauty, the art enthusiast’s persona takes a dark turn when it comes to his notions of it, complex and poetic. Being highly appreciative of many things makes him unpredictable, and there aren’t many lines he dares not cross. Originally stemming from his passion for the performing arts and theatrics, his thinking was eventually warped as he matured, grooming him into the thrill-seeking fanatic he is today. Catching his interest is easy, but once truly taken with something Haneht’s attention can be a blessing and a curse. HISTORY Re Ahnatep :
They say he tore his way through the womb, and was such a devil of a child that even the Myrians of children’s fables left him be.
He likes to exaggerate. Precious little Haneht was born to a four-armed, formerly commoner Mother, and immediately further elevated the family into respectable light with the presence of his divine six arms. Amongst his siblings, he is the youngest and only male, with three sisters, five, eight and ten years older respectively. Needless to say, he was a pampered little prince, spoiled and doted on greatly by his sisters in particular. Neht was a gentle, doe-like child, surprisingly mature, if a little odd and hyperactive, and was already greatly burdened from the moment of his first breath. He was the only one with six arms in the household in two generations, prideful parents both highly concerned when it came to image and status, and thus was groomed from birth for marriage and the further glorification of both his household and the Eypharian lineage from birth. Sensing the great pressure it placed on their baby brother, his sisters were (and still are) highly protective of him, and sought ways to distract his mind from the increasingly apparent deprivation of a normal childhood. Little Neht, who was an eager, curious learner even then, was introduced to all sorts of hobbies and disciplines, eventually finding interest in the performing arts. To this day, he still remembers his first Semhu performance vividly, and it is one of his most treasured memories. Expressing a keen interest in the art of dance and song, his parents immediately made use of Haneht’s passion and, to their excitement, aptitude for dance, hoping to make a famous Semhu actor out of him. Singing, while a habit when alone or with his sisters, proved difficult to master for the doe-like, soft spoken boy he was. He struggled with learning to control his voice, and coupled with his strict training, would often exhaust himself. But Neht, like many fellow Eypharians, was strong-willed and prideful himself, despite his demure nature, and persisted, driven by his passion and the loving support of his sisters. Blackbird :
At some point, his Mother conceived a fifth child, against the healer’s warnings and much to her children’s dismay. Age aside, her third child’s birth had been a difficult one, and with Haneht she was lucky to have birthed him and avoided a breech. There was only so much her body could handle. Perhaps, had she not been a lowborn turned Garden Concubine, and sold and married to the prideful man their Father was, she would’ve listened and aborted the child. Alas, she held on to it, driven by Eypharian pride and a fear poverty had instilled in her, and the reasoning that Haneht, whom she did love and care for despite her strictness with him, would have one more sibling to split the burden with. If lucky, they would be six-armed as well.
They were, despite Haneht’s hopes otherwise. His burden was not one he would wish upon his little sibling. Sometimes, he still thinks he should’ve prayed harder, or to a different god. Perhaps they would’ve spared his Mother, who died mid-delivery, or the baby sister who went with her. It was then that he delved further into his training and lessons, Mother no longer around to appease his Father or provide any more leniencies and sisters both grieving and busy with their own lives. Wilted Flower :
Ah, adolescence. A confusing period of rampant hormones and the beginning of sexual maturity, a step into the Ahnatep’s hedonistic world for al young boys and girls. Haneht had grown to be a charming young man, taking after his beautiful Mother in image and proved to be fairly popular with the young ladies of Ahnatep. The sudden appearance of his pheromones had been a mildly horrific time, one that Haneht refuses to divulge to any.
It was during this period that his second sister fell in love with a lowly household Kefasha, and continued her nightly secret rendezvous against Haneht’s concerned advice. He had no heart to outright disapprove the coupling, for he loved her dearly and this was the happiest she had been since their mother’s death, so he kept her secret hidden for her, and helped the couple whenever he could. Alas, the forbidden relationship eventually came to light, and Ahnouk’s lover was murdered on their Father’s orders to ensure the dignity of the household. Ahnouk herself, was forced into a marriage of his father's choosing to "finally straighten her out," and greatly despaired over the loss of both her love and freedom. Less than half a year into her marriage, Ahnouk ended her life at the Festival of Syna, before a thousand pairs of eyes. A final act of defiance against their father in her unconsolable grief, and one that deeply traumatised Haneht, whose world had always revolved around her as naturally as Syna and Leth did each other. Her final moments still haunt him; Beautiful, spirited Ahnouk who apologised and instructed him to scatter her remains with those she kept of her deceased lover’s, had sought her little brother out one last time to enjoy his company, and say her goodbyes. Then she collapsed in front of a thousand pairs of eyes before he could understand the meaning of her words, and Haneht watched the life leave her eyes as she convulsed in his arms. At this point, his remaining sisters have married, and his father conveniently took ill and passed from a mysterious illness. More illness than mysterious - Haneht would know. He left Ahnatep shortly after his Father’s passing, and has not been home in four years. |
