![]() ![]() ![]() Full Name: Elisse Tebriu Race: Human Birthday & Age: 28th Day of Winter, 489 AV. (21) Gender: Female ![]() Tall (5’8”) and willowy, Elisse possesses the slender limbs of a dancer, though she has none of the skills to become one. Long brunette hair frames a delicately featured face, and azure eyes shine with interest, or, more often than she would admit to, show the faraway gaze of a daydreamer. She has a long, thin scar running down her upper-left arm, a memento of the day she decided – at 5 years of age – to see what would happen if she tried to pick a stiletto knife off her fathers workshop wall. ![]() Elisse was always an intelligent child, and very inquisitive, traits that she still carries today. Her attention is easily held by a good story, or an intelligent conversation. One seeking her out, will usually find her with her nose buried in a book, or furiously scribbling notes in her journal. She feels there is no boundary to the knowledge one can possess, though she does tend to favour the subject of the Arcane. She tries to avoid conflict where she can, but she’s not afraid of sending fire hurtling towards anyone trying to hurt her. Looking at her, it’s easy to tell that anybody could beat her in a test of strength, so she finds it somewhat amusing that fire, the brute force of fire, showed itself as her first element. ![]() She was born to Betran and Naria, modest citizens of Slyiras. Betran was, and still is, a highly skilled weapon-smith, crafting fine blades wit apparent ease. She was an only child, yet her parents wished for a son. Even so, her father would try to teach her his craft. Alongside her schooling, Elisse would observe her father as he worked, sitting for Bells at a time in the sweltering heat by the forge. As time went on she found herself less and less interested in the work her father was doing, and would often bring reading material with her. Initially her father would scorn her; a forge was the last place ![]() By the time she was seventeen, Elisse was well versed in a variety of subjects, and insisted that she attend the University of Zeltiva. They agreed, her father begrudgingly, as they saw that a future in the smithing business would never appeal to her scholarly ways. However, she kept quiet about her chosen studies once she arrived, telling her parents she was perusing histories and literature. In reality, she was more interested in the arcane. She’d been stashing various books amongst her clothing for years, afraid of what her parents would say if they knew her real desires. After three years of study, Elisse felt it was time to move on. She had reluctantly told her mother and father what she had pursued, and while initially wary, even a little cross, they accepted that it was done. Her want for knowledge is now greater than it ever was, and she sees it as an ongoing quest to discover as much as she can. |
