[Closed] A Growing Way [Amarhyl]

She thought for a moment about the question. "Both." She only came because it was a place to rest her head after her journey. She had to leave where she had come from because of banishment that she wished to leave behind and unknown to the people in her future.

"Both."
Amarhyl nodded, but before answering the question, she motioned to a low wall, the perfect height for sitting on. When they were both comfy, she thought for a moment.
"Well, I come to the Gardens to read and write. It's quiet here, so I can concentrate." She paused. "And I'm in the City because it was time to move on..." Her voice lapsed into silence before she continued. "There was nothing left for me back where my family used to be. So I came to learn and work." She gave a half-hearted shrug.
"What about you?" She peered at her Kelvic companion with an expression of genuine interest.

Wondering what she ment by 'time to move on...' She pondered what such an innocent girl could mean by that. Could something have happened to her? Was it something her family did? As thoughts ran through her mind she had seemed to slip from reality for a little while, but when the girl asked her a new question, she shook it off and came right back.

"Well, really all i'm aloud to say is that I was...'released' from my home town and I'm not really aloud to go back so, i just continue to walk till, i'm needed to stay somewhere."]

Amarhyl waited for a moment, idly swinging her legs against the wall so that her heels hit it with soft thumping noises. She glanced sideways at her companions face and could see she was deep in thought. Her eyes seemed distant, and Amarhyl wondered if something she'd said had triggered a memory or a question. Either that or she had bored the Kelvic.

"I was...'released' from my home town..." Amarhyl frowned slightly, a tiny crease appearing on her brow. It sounded as though the Kelvic had been captive, though could towns really do that? She didn't know. Of course, they could banish people; one of the farmers down at the Outpost had been turned out of his original town.
"I just continue to walk till, I'm needed to stay somewhere." Amarhyl tilted her head to one side. It must be nice to be able to go wherever you want to. Technically she could do that herself, though how long she'd last was anyone's guess. The longest she'd been out of any form of civilization was a walk through some trees back where she grew up.
"So...don't you ever stay in places at all? You know, like...for markets?" She remembered that the Kelvic had mentioned leatherworking on their way to the Gardens, and it was this subject she chose to follow, rather then try to delve further into the girl's history, as it sounded like something that shouldn't be dragged up.

Looking up at the sky, she saw her eagle flying around in a circle above her, had he found some food for her to snatch? Her eagle was normally a scout for something for her to hunt and if he found something already dead, he'd bring it, less it be to large or far off to dead to become anything good.

She looked back at the girl when she spoke again and shrugged at the question. "I'm a traveling sales as well, though it wouldn't do someone very well if they were trying to keep a home. It's very rare that I stay in one area very long, let alone sleep in a bed. But i don't know, this town seems nice, if i could find an actual job, maybe i'd stay. But i'd still leave from time to time."

She followed the Kelvic's gaze up to the sky. The eagle she'd seen earlier was hovering above their heads, and she wondered what connection her new companion had with it. She knew people kept birds as pets, but eagles? Amarhyl didn't think they were the type of bird to accept a master, to be domesticated. Well, as domesticated as you could make a bird of prey in any case.

"I'm a traveling sales as well..." Amarhyl nodded as she listened. She supposed that a skill such as leatherworking would come in handy wherever you ended up. Everyone used it in some way or another. "But i'd still leave from time to time." She looked back at the Kelvic's face. Perhaps travelers could never rest in one place, once they started the need to find somewhere else might be too strong for them to resist moving on. Though she was probably being fanciful in that thought.
"I'm sure there's loads of opportunity for you to work here. Leatherworkers are useful after all." Amarhyl smiled.

Looking back, she was right, leather workers are pretty well needed, but this being such a large city, she wondered if there were already plenty that she needed to go else where. Her gaze turned back over to her horse who seemed restless, he wasn't use to being kept locked up and being so large, any stable felt to small to him. Waving her hand at him, she was trying to tell him it wouldn't be to long, and she thought maybe she should just leave him outside of the gates, it's not like he'd run away from her. They'd been together since she was born.

"I'm sure, but do you think they would need another here? This city is so large, i'm sure they have plenty. And from the smell, a lot of kelvics. Either that or I'm just smelling myself." She chuckled slightly.

Amarhyl was distracted for a moment when she saw the Kelvic raise her hand and wave. A sudden, irrational wave of fear and nerves washed over her; was she calling over another person to join them? She glanced round, and almost sighed in relief when she saw that the girl was only gesturing to her horse. It seemed anxious; restless, she imagined it wasn't used to being stabled if it's owner was a traveller.

"I'm sure, but do you think they would need another here?..." Amarhyl shrugged, she honestly didn't know.
"You wont know till you find out. I guess people make different things. I sometimes make leather journals. Perhaps someone will need some of the things that you can make." As for the Kelvics, Amarhyl didn't usually look at people close enough to find out who they were because of the conversations that were likely to follow. All the same, she smiled and gave a light laugh at Meko's comment. "There are quite a few tailors in the city, but there are also a lot of people, and everyone needs clothing, so it all works out. It's probably the same with leather."
