Winter 78, 510 Av

As she was new in the town, she was awaiting a job confirmation, she decided she would pick up some of the local merchandise that she needed and maybe a place to lay her head for the night. Walking around holding her horses reigns behind her back dragging him along, her eagle flew above her landing on various ledges and watching her. She looked around at the markets buying more arrows for her quiver, and a blacksmith to sharpen her dagger. She later walked up to a guard and asked where the inn was, he pointed her to it and she walked along and stabled her horse in the stable and paid the stable boy for the over night pay. Shaking her head as she handed him the money she sighed. "I need to get some work in fast if i'm gonna make any money"

Entering the inn she checked in and carried her stuff to the room then walked back down and went back out to wander about the town as her eagle flew down and she held out her arm and he landed on it and looked around. She smiled and looked around for anyone looking for her profession.

A Growing Way [Amarhyl]

Season of Winter, Day 78, 510 AV

She had been in the city for a while now, the days that had passed since the 58th had blurred together somewhat; her young mind was still trying to come to terms with suddenly being on her own.

Overwhelmed as she was, Amarhyl had seemed to find a routine forming already. She found herself always rising early, and, not one to waste the day, would always be up and about, long before a lot of Slyiras’ other citizens ventured beyond their doors.

A favourite place of hers was the Stone Garden. It was to there that she was headed on this particular day, winding her way through the mass of people crowding the market. She turned a corner, and was greeted by the sight of a tall woman standing with her arm outstretched. Amarhyl paused; she wasn’t quite sure what to make of the scene. When an eagle seemed to appear from nowhere, the girls eyes widened as it landed on this strange woman’s arm. She was about to turn round when the other looked over, and their gazes locked. She drew her breath. Amarhyl hated meeting strangers; she was incredibly shy, but she couldn't help but stare at those steely blue eyes.

A Growing Way [Amarhyl]

Seeing the girl she seemed to just stair at her for a moment, studying her, almost as if she was looking into her soul. After a bit she smiled, then gently pet her eagle suddenly pushing her arm to the sky as it flew off. Running her fingers through her long hair, she walked over to the girl and reached into her satchel pulling out a small fur pelt, that looked to be a squirrels and held it out to her. She was an odd one and she liked to offer her kill as an offering that she wanted to bring them no harm. Odd offering wasn't it? "I won't hurt yah."

A Growing Way [Amarhyl]

Postby Amarhyl on February 13th, 2011, 9:01 pm

Amarhyl could feel a fain blush creeping up her neck. Why was she staring? Staring usually meant that the person would approach, and it often wasn't a friendly encounter. She could feel the nerves creeping in, and her eyes probably widened slightly when the other offered her a smile. She shifted her gaze to the ground, where she watched a shadow move swiftly away - the eagle had left for the skies it seemed.

Her head quickly snapped back up again though, as she heard footsteps moving her way. The woman was approaching her, exactly the opposite of what she had wanted. Amarhyl took a step backwards and watched as the other reached into a backpack and pulled out what appeared to be an animal skin. I won't hurt yah. The young girl was speechless, she didn't move to take the pelt, which she assumed was meant for her. Instead she sort of...gawped. "I...uh..."

Tilting her head, she looked at the pelt then at her. "Sorry if you don't understand, its just my piece offering." Tucking the fur back into her satchel, she smiled and saw how shy the girl was. She tried to think of ways to help break the ice but, she wasn't use to such a shy person.

She let out a long sigh then tried another tactic. "Could i maybe help you with something?"

It's just my peace offering. Immediately Amarhyl felt bad for not taking the pelt. Still, it was an odd gesture all the same, and she watched as the fur was put away again.
Could I maybe help you with something? She glanced back up at the woman's face. No...a girl, up close she seemed younger that Ama had initially thought, and there was something...different about her. She suspected that the other wasn't a full human, though at this moment in time, her mind was getting over the shock of an unplanned meeting to think what else she could be.
"Uhm, no." The young girl summoned her courage to at least speak. "I was just...going for a walk. I uh, I didn't mean to disturb you..."

A smile crept over her face as she finally got some word out of the human. Hearing that she was going for a walk she saw an opportunity to hopefully get to know her. "Let me ask you a few things, one, where are you going, two, are you just walking, and three, would you care to ride horses, that be if you have one."

She looked back at the stable and eyed her horse almost communicating with his as his head bounced up and down and her dug his hoof into the ground almost as if he understood what she wanted.

Amarhyl watched the girl warily as she smiled, and almost took another step back at the sudden bombardment of questions. She stammered for a moment, trying to untangle her thoughts. It took her perhaps a chime to form a rational answer.
"Um, I was going to the Stone Gardens...just for a walk." She glanced over her shoulder at the stable to see an impatient horse digging his hooves.
"I don't own a horse..." She had ridden before, though not much, but any skill was useless if you didn't have the means to use it.

She nodded her head lightly. Looking around she shrugged and looked her over for a moment, noticing that she had some little dots on her fingers, that looked to be pricks from a needle. She had to guess she must work with needles as she did as well but, she doesn't seem to have the figure or personality type to work with leather, maybe she was a tailor of some sort, which could come in handy for her.

She smiled at her. "Do you mind if i join you, i'd like to ask you about what needle point you do." Holding out her hands, she showed that her hands were scrapped and scarred from needles and knifes. "I'm a leather worker."

Amarhyl waited, warily watching as the girl looked back at her. She balled her hands into fists when she noticed the other's gaze linger on her fingers. Earlier that morning, Ama had been embroidering a pattern onto a silk tunic, and, with the fabric being so slippery, the needle often missed.
"Do you mind if I join you, I'd like to ask you about what needle point you do." Amarhyl glanced her the hands presented to her. They showed the marks of a person who crafted using either needles or other sharp tools. "I'm a leather worker." Amarhyl nodded.
"Um, if you like. I'm sure you can tell me about your work too." She offered a polite smile and motioned with her hand down the path - in the direction of the Gardens.
