The Nine Lives
Resting neatly on Shinyama Peak sits a small, intriguing shop. Near the entrance of the bridge to the peak, it lies where all can see it. In front of the shop sits a wooden sign with the words ‘THE NINE LIVES’ carved into it. It is at The Nine Lives where people seek to learn more about what their future holds, for this shop is owned by a Konti fortune-teller and Divinist.
A simple, brown wooden door can be reached by a set of stairs, climbing a slight hill. Standing in front of the door, you can see through its small window, into the shop. Though, sometimes this window is covered by a closed curtain.
When a customer enters The Nine Lives, they are greeted by Dev’Ania along with the smell of burning incense and the meows of Dev’s kitten, Ember. The inside of the small building is very basic, almost rundown, with little decorations to cover up its unattractiveness. To the right, customers will see an empty counter, usually serving as a resting spot to a small kitten.
The room is decorated with a large tapestry that hangs on the room’s left wall depicting a view of the nighttime sky while in Lhavit. A wooden sculpture of a cat sits guarding an opening to another room. If a customer is not greeted by the friendly owner of the shop, she is most likely waiting for them in the back room.
Walking into the back room, you are met with a small, round table and two chairs in the center of the room. One chair sits, tucked under the table neatly. The other is occupied by Dev’Ania. This is where Dev’Ania gives her readings. She tries to make the experience as pleasant as she could. Patrons take a seat across from the fortune-teller and allow her to do do what she does best.

Since she was a child, Dev’Ania dreamed of becoming a fortune-teller. Her dream was accomplished when she moved to Lhavit and became an apprentice to the Alheas Crone. Though she had much fun working under the guidance of the Crone, she was soon taught all she could learn and it was time for her to go out on her own. Now, she has her own welcoming shop for all to come and get their fortune read.
When a customer enters the small shop, they are greeted warmly by Dev’Ania. Most of the time, Dev’Ania is already sitting at her small table which is covered in a piece of red fabric and decorated with a glass ball, used for scrying, and candles. If Dev is not seated, then she is standing behind the counter, organizing or writing in her notebook.
Dev greets her customers with a smile. Often she will say something along the lines of “Welcome! How about a reading today,” and then she will list her services and prices before sitting down for the reading. During a reading, Dev will light the candles on the table. After readings, Dev will walk her customer out the door, waving goodbye to them.
