Twik reads the cards (Open!)

Postby Sira on March 5th, 2011, 5:37 pm

Sira watched as the final card was pulled, wondering what it might be after Twiks reaction to it. The card itself was rather scary looking, and Sira could only assume it was bad news. Perhaps Kovac had inner demons he had to deal with, or maybe he was going to be struck by lightning... although the thing with red eyes looked more like an owl, so maybe he was supposed to rescue an owl in a thunderstorm? ...probably not though, and after Twik's explanation things made a lot more sense.

Sira was a bit disappointed when Kovac didn't look at the final card, but it was his choice and she couldn't make him look at it. ....or could she? Well, she could, but that would just be mean, so Sira let it slide. Twik was pretty good, from what Sira could tell, and when Kovac suggested it was her turn Sira's eyes brightened considerable from the lost in though haze they previously possessed.

"Yes, yes. Do me!"

Sira happily scooted over to be directly in front of Twik, anxiously awaiting her fortune telling. Sira was confident that her future would be bright, but she wanted to know just how bright. And if it turned out it wasn't... well, Twik might just find herself being snatched up by an angry wind eagle. Probably not though.. Sira wasn't the malicious type, usually.

"Let's see what my future holds!"

Twik reads the cards (Open!)

Postby Twik on March 8th, 2011, 5:04 am

Twik was saddened that her first reading had come out so ominous, but as Kovac left she called after him "Your future need not be wretched! It's only that you're going to have a bit of trouble before you sort it out." She frowned to herself. A bit of trouble, if the cards were to be believed, might be something of an understatement, but still... A new customer plunked down in front of her, and the smile returned to Twik's face.
“Oh! Hello! Let me see now, what have we got for you! Here shuffle the cards however you see fit.” She handed her deck over to Sira, and took it back when it was well mixed. She turned the first card over to display a rather humorous image of a shark lunging out of a tree.

Twik blew out her cheeks as she considered the card.
“Now,” she said, “You might think that all I’m giving out is bad news, but keep in mind that the cards probably won’t be bothered with telling you about nice things. The point is to identify problems and suggest solutions. Now this grumpy fellow is called ‘The Shark in the Tree. ‘ It is symbolic of hidden danger in an unexpected place. Despite all this toothy display the danger needn’t be physical, it might be danger to your reputation or business or anything really. The point is mainly that it is going to come from a place that you never thought of as a threat. If you think carefully you might get small signs though. There’s not a lot we can tell from this first card, unless you have an idea what it might be referring to?”

Twik reads the cards (Open!)

Postby Vala on March 8th, 2011, 8:56 pm

Vala couldn’t help but snigger at the ridiculous picture of a shark in a tree. She stopped to sigh when she noticed she had accidentally scrawled across her journal. She tried to rub it out, but a faint hint still remained. She shrugged in deference and began to sketch an outline of the tree.

Vala hadn’t been too fond of Kovak’s cards or reading. It had been morbid, full of cryptic messages and ominous symbols. His cards wouldn’t have been fun to draw either. Vala couldn’t have cared less if Twik had roared out proclaiming Kovak’s inevitable and painful death: she didn’t know the guy, suffering wasn’t entertaining if she wasn’t inflicting it.

She was also glad the had moved on to the other lady. She was pretty; she would make a pretty picture, but Vala didn’t want to attempt lest she drew her face lopsided or shaded her nose too large, or anything else that might incur the Endal’s wrath.

She finished the trunk with a flourish, a lumpy trunk it was. Vala scowled at her weak attempt, but moved on the sketch the shark’s mouth and nose, meticulously pencilling in the rows of pointed teeth amongst the leafy foliage of the tree.

She looked up when she finished her sketch; Kovac was sitting beside her. She had already forgotten Kovak’s fortune, and was now just anticipating her turn. By his build, dress, and manner, Vala assumed that the man was an Endal: it would be out of her place to initiate a conversation so she just offered a friendly smile as they both watched Twik with Sira.

Twik reads the cards (Open!)

The annoyed Avora stopped in his tracks at Twik's words. Really? Trouble to sort out? He didn't need a fortune teller to divine that truth, he seemed to walk into more trouble than he deserved...or maybe he did. Nevertheless, the kid with the cards may have got things right. He turned to look at her as she set up to read for Sira. Would the sassy kelvic get the same gloomy prophecies? Curiosity won over, and after a quick glance around the room, Kovac slid back to sit down between Sira and the drawing girl.

The archer craned his neck to peer at the girl's sketchpad. Her drawing was not bad, and he looked up to see her looking at him. She smiled at him politely, obviously mistaken him for someone that matters. "Don't worry dear, I am not one of them." He commented sarcastically and tilted his head towards Sira, indicating he was no Endal. "You can treat me like a normal person." The girl was thin but attractive, a bit young, with large blue eyes. He shot her a wink and a quick wry grin before turning to watch Twik read Sira's cards.

The Shark card looked silly, but when the young fortune teller hinted that Sira was not going to receive a happy, feel-good prediction, Kovac smiled slightly and scooted closer with intrigue. "Oh my...looks like danger ahead..." he teased the Kelvic,"...I should have warned you about Aidara." A snarky smile twisted the corner of his mouth as he glanced at Sira, before sitting up straight and waiting to see the woman's reaction.

Twik reads the cards (Open!)

Sira waited anxiously for her first card to be pulled, noticing again the girl with the sketch pad. She had nearly forgotten about the drawings, and tried to casually make herself look good without being too obvious. She sat up straighter, stretched and ran her hands through her hair as her hands came back down to try to calm any frizz. If Sira was going to be drawn she wanted to look her best. Hopefully Vala would get her good side, though Sira had no idea what side that was, so hopefully what Vala was seeing was her good side.

The card that was drawn looked ridiculous and Sira laughed out loud. Kovac and Vala also seemed to find it amusing, but Twik however did not. To Sira the card could have meant anything, but Twik's explanation made her wonder just what kind of danger it might mean. A danger to her reputation was nothing new, and wouldn't really matter much to Sira. If it were a physical danger then Sira's very profession was filled with such things. Perhaps it meant there was going to be an incident out on the hunt. Or maybe there would be an attack on Wind Reach... not likely, but it would certainly be unexpected. Or the card could be referring to something of a more personal nature, perhaps involving Aidara or her sister Sai who was jealous of their relationship.

To Kovac's comment Sira responses with a light laugh and gave him a sly look. "If you're referring to the bear incident, don't worry. A bear would be a nice snack for me. But I'll make sure to watch the trees for sharks next time we spend the night in the woods together." While her tone may have been jovial her eyes quickly turned serious again. Any potential danger towards Addy was worth paying attention to.

"Next card please."
