2 Summer 519
Even though Finn figured the watchtowers had flared for summer, the weather was for more comfortable then spring had been, Syna was of course warm in the sky as she beat down on his bare bronzed shoulders and a slight cool breeze cooled him and the beaches nicely. The Suvan’s blue brilliance mirrored in the young Svefra’s eyes as he scanned the bay and watched the white caps that broke into a gentle rhythm that lulled him into an easy contentment as he strode slowly out the dock, his feet scorching from the boards warmed in the heat of the day. He sat on the end of the dock while his let his legs dangle into the warm sea water below him, he stretched himself out as he comfortably laid back onto the dock.
He closed his eyes and relaxed in the sunshine as the boards slowly cooled beneath him, the sound and smell of the sea calmed him as he took several deep breaths to clear his mind. His feet and calves were in the water as the bottom of his pants dipped in as well, he let his feet drift and sway as the waves pushed them up and down gently. He forced the few sounds coming from the commons out of the way as he relaxed by himself and started to focus on Oceanus on his shoulder. He could feel the mark slowly churn on his shoulder and increasingly so as soon as his feet touched the sea as if activated by the salt water somehow. He could sense the sea all around him even though his eyes were still closed as the ocean came alive inside his head.
He tried to block everything out of his mind as he concentrated on the sea that enveloped his senses. He opened himself up ever so slowly to his surroundings as he attempted to limit his sense to as small an area as he could. The sensations flooded his mind quickly as he fought the urge to open himself up and let it completely overwhelm him, he could ‘see’ the minnows below himself as they swam in the safety of the shallows. The limitation that he set for himself was entirely missed as his sense ran halfway to the island but it didn’t entirely overwhelm him either as he slowly became accustomed to his feeling. Chimes passed before he slowly allowed his boundary to ease out further until he could see what felt like half of the bay regardless of what it actually was. He laid there and sorted it all out in his mind and comfort, he thanked Laviku for the gift that he had bestowed on him many years ago.
He tried to keep his sense limited to keep control of it, while he sorted it all in his mind. Schools of small fish darted about the bay along with some slightly larger sea bass. It didn’t take long to find something new for Syka which peaked his interest immediately, not to mention that it made his stomach growl loudly. He focused heavily on the crustaceans that seemed to litter the sea floor before he let the sense expand further and further away from the dock. The expansion brought more and more of the crustaceans into his view, without a second thought about it he decided the abundance of lobsters in the area was something he would have thin out a little to the benefit of all Syka he hoped.
