[Syliras OOC] The Calm Within the Storm

Welcome to the Syliras OOC Thread!

Not to be confused with the whole of Sylira, Syliras can be considered the capital city of Sylira, the region named after Sylir, God of Peace and Civilization.

Please post all OOC chatters, questions, matchmaking requests, and other fun stuff here! Syliran Mods will also make announcements here, so make sure to subscribe/bookmark the thread and check it regularly.

Even though Syliras is still closed, feel free to post here in the OOC while I am getting it up and running!

I will be posting updates in this thread about the status of the city & any major changes as well, so please subscribe if you're interested in playing in Syliras in the present, future, or if you just really like reading changelogs.

I have purged most of the NPCs and will be making changes to the Syliran Knights. Mainly, there will not be a patron for every squire, but there will be a few knights who are older and now train squires as a group.

I have also purged some locations that do not fit, including Mithryn Outpost and the great harbor. Other locations will be rewritten.

Finally, Syliras will be oriented towards newbies. That's not to say that veterans can't join, but that I will be providing a little extra help and a more in-depth guide to starting in the city for people new to Miz. Syliras has historically drawn newbies because it most closely resembles typical fantasy (castles, knights, etc) and I hope that this will help with player retention.

I have removed extraneous/generic parts of Syliras.

This includes the farms and Evantide Outpost. Syliras was not originally a farming community, and since my goal is to restore it to its original, unique vision, it will no longer be a farming community. The city is surrounded by thick woods and mountains, which while can technically be farmed, are too dangerous to do so.

I've posted a guide, the request thread, and have edited the Syliras wiki page to reflect the new changes.

I will be posting prompts, registry, and calendar tomorrow when the city officially opens! I haven't heard of anyone who plans to be in the city in the Winter so hopefully that changes soon.

With that, Syliras is officially open for play! The calendar will be coming soon, likely later tonight. I'll post prompts as soon as there are active players to tailor them around. I'm so excited!!

Hey folks,

I'm sorry to say I'll be retiring as Mayhem. IRL has just eaten up too much of my time - along with stress, health concerns, and an overall upheaval with everything in my life, I was barely an ST to begin.

Thank you for playing in Syliras. I love you dearly.
