Yvaleth "Val" Hyacinth
Appearance
Race: Symenestra
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Birthday: 7 Summer 497
Birthplace: Kalinor
Appearance:
> 6'3" | Long, white hair | Pallid complexion | Slim build | Violet eyes
Yvaleth favors sitting, whenever possible, to diminish his presence and keep attention off of the reality of his impressive height. He also prefers loose fitting garb, such as hooded ponchos or cloaks, to hide his lanky build and keep his body looking formless and inoffensive.
When deprived of these illusory efforts, Yvaleth's limbs seem disproportionately lengthy for the rest of his body, and his neck goes on a little too much. His long fingers are tipped with mean, black claws. His pale skin further makes evident his inhumanness, and if that weren't enough, his long, wispy hair is bright white despite the youth of his features. This may be the reason for his fondness of hoods.
His best features, subjectively speaking, might well be his eyes. Although his brow is sometime sharp, his deepset amethyst eyes are soft and merciful. Behind them is a careful, calculating mind and a compassionate heart. Probably.
Character Concept
> Patient | Kind | Calculated | Secretive | Loner
Yvaleth is a patient creature, but he enjoys his privacy. He seldomly encroaches upon others, remaining highly aware of his place in society as a pariah. Out of pragmatism, he avoids conflict when possible and lubricates social interaction with profuse politeness and courtesy, even if it has to be insincere. Most find him to be friendly and pleasant, if a bit quiet.
Crouched behind his friendly facade is a ruthless opportunist. Yvaleth is not without kindness, but he is scarcely interested in making friends and rarely places trust in others. He is careful to follow the law, but only until he disagrees with it, at which point he begins thinking about other clandestine methods in order to get his way.
Character History
Yvaleth speaks very little about his origins, but his history makes itself as apparent as his race. He spent the entirety of his youth in his native Kalinor, where his family remains without him. Despite his proneness to brooding and staring contemplatively through windows, he doesn't seem like he's in a hurry to get back home.
Though he is most fluent in his native Symenos tongue, he has been taught the Common language since childhood; however he only began using it frequently upon adulthood as he began traveling abroad with bands of his people. A thick accent remains.
His family are leatherworkers by trade, and semi-annually they would do trade with the Eypharians of Ahnatep, and as a consequence he has picked up some basic Arumenic words and syntax.
As the oldest sibling, he has studied lifelong to be a predator in preparation for his future Harvests. In keeping with his lifestyle of eschewing conflict, he trained mostly in trapping his prey after tracking it, rather than hunting and subduing it outright. Additionally, as a youth aboard ships, he was taught different methods of knotting rope, knowledge which transferred over to his Harvest repertoire to assist in disabling his target.
