One of the most noted places in The Outpost, The Fountain Square is really the central hub of The Outpost. This piece of real estate allows no pitching of tents or cooking of food. Instead, it is open to those that play instruments and sing only. Busking is allowed, given space is provided for musical styles to not overlap and that musicians are not set up on top of one another.
The Fountain Square sits before the entrance of the Open Sky Bazaar and is where The Outpost Dovecote opens into.
The famous apartments of The Outpost lie on the east side of the square, built into the walls of The Outpost themselves. On the west side, taking up far more room, are the famous walled riads of The Outpost - individual townhouses of the wealthier merchants and visitors.
There is a green space in the center of the fountain square that holds a small reflecting pool. However, the actual Kalskan Fountain which makes Fountain Square famous is on the north wall next to The Dovecote double doors. To the south, across The Open Sky Bazaar, one can see the looming Shrine of Xyna where it is said the Goddess herself resides.
Keiss acolytes are responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of The Fountain Square. They are often seen changing trash bins, sweeping, and have no qualms about pausing to enjoy the various buskers that frequent the square.
