Deep in the heart of the outpost is its beating center. An open-aired facility filled with tables, chairs, and comfortable couches - The Wayward Minstrel is the center of music and performance for The Outpost. Graced with a stage, and a very talented bard who uses it often, the Wayward Minstrel usually has nightly music and provides beverages and snacks to those who are visiting.

Sometimes the music is poignant and compelling, sometimes the drums ring out and the dance floor is filled. The Wayward Minstrel is a great place to meet people, unwind, and relax. Visiting musicians are invited to play on stage at all levels, and indeed older more experienced bards often tutor and encourage the younger less skilled bards helping them gain confidence.

The facility usually opens in the late afternoon after it starts to cool off and stays open late into the night usually clearing out the crowds around the 24th bell. It is, however, not uncommon for the place to still be busy around the 1st or 2nd bell. Razinor absolutely throws everyone out after the second bell. He has a firm rule on beauty sleep and everyone getting it.

Razinor is a typical bard. He spent his first one hundred years roaming then his next few settling in different places. When 519 rolled around he immediately moved into The Outpost and set up shop. He loved the idea of a hub and has a place now to perform since he founded The Wayward Minstrel.

He does a lot of performing here, but he also acts as host and encourages new young bards to begin to play or to hone their skills. Friendly, approachable, Razinor is also very worldly. He gives advice when asked, and also tends to lend an ear when necessary.

 

Menu and Rates

The Wayward Minstrel is, in essence, a bar, though it has a limited drink and snack menu. One can get wine, ale, tea, coffee, and water. There's a nightly snack offering from the kitchen which usually involves something like a platter of chicken wings or rolled meat pies. If Razinor is feeling generous, he'll be serving shrimp.

There is something different every night.

A drink and a snack platter is usually 5 sm. Refills are 1 sm no matter what the beverage of choice. The Wayward Mistrel is open for private parties and event planning as well and can cater food in from The Courtyard Cantina.
