Liam waited patiently outside the door to Cassidy's home.. well, patiently wasn't the best word for it. Liam could hardly contain himself! They were going out for a night on the town, headed for the best dining mizas could buy, the White Swan. Liam had only been to the establishment once in his life, and his memories of the place were pure elegance. No other place in the city was fit for his love, as far as he was concerned.
Finally Cassidy came out, dressed in her best evening gown and all her best jewelry, some of it recently purchased in the market by her father. "Cassidy... you are beautiful." Cassidy smiled and offered her hand, receiving a light kiss on the backside of her palm. "You're not so bad yourself, Liam. You clean up nice for a waiter." She offered Liam a coy smile before he took her hand and led her off down the hall. The two walked hand in hand, offering each other pleasant conversation until they reached the White Swan.
The food was fantastic, but expensive, but Liam ordered only the best for his new girl. "You don't have to do this, Liam. A simple dinner at any inn would have been good for me." Liam shook his head, taking her hand. "Of course I do, only the best for you, Cass." The pair enjoyed their meal, telling each other tales of their life and finding out all there was to know about one another. When the dinner was finished they walked up and down the halls of the castle, not wanting the night to end, but both of them were getting tired and they knew it was time to go home.
Eventually they found themselves outside Cassidy's door, nervously holding each others hands. "So... I had a great time tonight, Liam," Cassandra shyly said. Liam squeezed her hand, looking into her beautiful blue eyes. "So did I, Cass.." Cassidy turned toward the door, fiddling with the knob. "So," she said, trying to delay her entrance into the house, "I'll see you again tomorrow, right?" Liam was nervous, he wanted to kiss her but he couldn't work up the courage. "Um.. of course. I'll try to get off early and I'll come straight over." Cassidy opened the door, "Well.. goodnight, Liam."
"Cass, wait!"
Liam took Cassidy's hand, turning her back to him, staring into her eyes. Swallowing his nerves he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers softly at first, but when she returned the kiss they pressed together more eagerly. They paused to take a breath, each looking into one another, then their lips pressed together once more. The kiss was like nothing Liam had ever experienced.. it wasn't his first kiss, but it was the first that had ever made him feel like everything in the world was perfect. Cassidy was the one he was meant to be with, she was his entire reason for being. Everything that had happened in his life had led up to this moment, and as they kissed he knew eve then that he would marry this woman.
And so the night ended with a kiss, or several kisses to be precise. Cassidy eventually went inside and Liam made his way home, falling into his bed and dreaming of beautiful blue eyes. It was the best night's sleep he'd ever had. |
