There comes a time in all people's lives where they do some front porch sitting. Front porches are sacred for the sharing of ideas, the comforting of souls, and of course to sip sweet tea. Mathias' Place has one of those front porches. People chat there, exchange ideas, gain comfort and most importantly fish. There's almost always fishing going on at Mathias' Place and anyone and everyone is welcome. If someone comes with a snack in hand or a bottle of some fine port wine, they are indeed doubly welcome. This porch is where it is happening... where dreams are whispered about and deals are made. A lot of naps are taken in hammocks on this porch as well.
Mathias has a nice two-story bungalow on the beach built out over the water for optimal fishing. The place is boxy and predictable but Mathias doesn't mind. It's functional to him, he'll tell anyone. The downstairs is open to the public, with actual windows and storm shutters that open into a generous floor plan starting with a big hearth and ending with an indoor/outdoor kitchen.
The upstairs is for sleeping and houses Mathias' bedroom, a couple of guest rooms, and a large walk-in closet. The place has a newer feel since indeed it is a rather new bungalow... but it also has a 'just came home' feeling as well, welcoming people from all races and all ages to gather on the porch, out of the sun, and talk or simply fish.

Without question the leader of the ill-fated expedition that tried to get the pathway to Syka open years ago, Mathias didn't give up until he succeeded with a smaller group and a new ship. Mathias grew up in Zeltiva, was educated at the University, and joined the sailors guild when he decided the academic life wasn't for him. Years later in his pursuit of knowledge, he came across Xhyvas and impressed him becoming instrumental in getting the God up to date on what had happened in history since he went underground. Today Mathias is the only known priest of Xhyvas.
