Meeting new people

Postby Winter on March 21st, 2011, 4:48 pm

He has been pushed for a while by the words the strangers said, although, Winter still feels he shouldn’t fall onto aggression, not there. Astrea leaves him another warning to not engage in a fight in the middle of the city, they would after all be arrested as quick as the hell breaks loose.
Astrea did refeer the words to him, as so, he felt like he had to reply. His gaze changes back to her face, where his eyes meet hers golden ones, obfuscating his ego. He decides to quote one of the teaching his mother taught to him while he was still a “Kelvic cub”. Looking into a wolf eye is perhaps the closest feeling you’ll have to have a mirror of your soul, his gaze now, penetrates hers, eyeing directly her essence. "It is madness for sheep to talk about peace with a wolf." – he intended to perhaps scare her off or make her truly aware of his nature and true Kelvic form.

Winter swaps his gaze once again to Malemar, the man obviously knew of his intentions. As Malemar’s stance goes to a less threatening one, Winter backs off a little, leaving some space for the wrath cloud that hung in the air, this one would soon dissipate. As Malemar’s acknowledges of Winter’s physical traits and confirms that both him and the “audience” are aware of it, his ego is fed even more. He’s pleased by what he heard, and senses it as a victory over his newly-found opponent. He sends out a sly smile to Malemar. “Smart Choice…” – he teases, giving him a soft punch on his shoulder, with no intentions of hurting.

Returning his attention to Maegon, he’s intrigued by what the man was doing by looking at him for so long in such an distance. “Speak your mind then?” – Winter asks.

Meeting new people

Postby Maegon on March 21st, 2011, 7:40 pm

"Please, don't let this get out of hand, please, don't let this get out of hand..." was a silent prayer, to any god or goddess that could be hearing out there, that kept running through Maegon's head. There were a number of ways that could go wrong, and with the aggressiveness between the two men, he was unsure what would be the worst outcome: being hit by one of them by mistake, of getting put in jail by the Knights, also by mistake. Getting in the middle of that had been maybe no the smartest choice, looking back; on the other hand, Maegon had no idea about the apparent aggressiveness between the man he wanted, who was most surely a Kelvic, and the Human, who also looked like he could pack a nice punch.

The quick but heated exchange of words, interrupted along the way by the not only beautiful but also (at first sight) well intentioned Astrea, got Maegon very nervous, trying to look around discreetly for any Knights in the area. Going to prison for a "pick up girl gone wrong" seemed really stupid. As the argument ended with the Kelvic talking to Maegon, he tried to form a coherent response. "You look like you could hold your own in the wilds. I would like to put that to the test." Maegon hoped not to sound too arrogant, but challenging the Kelvic's ego seemed the best way to get him on Maegon's side.

Meeting new people

Postby Malemar on March 21st, 2011, 9:21 pm

Malemar let out a short sigh of relief, although barely audible. The Kelvic had won this one, in a fashion. Although maybe they would have another such meeting, he was ubsure, for the moment. He shifted cautiously on the balls of his feet, still half expectant of an attack to come his way, telling himself that he could never be too careful, especially around a Kelvic, as volatile as they were.

Malemar opened his mouth to respond to the man, but closed it again when he realised that his attention had already shifted to the other man that had recently joined them. He had forgotten that he was there, caught up in the adrenaline of the confrontation. For now, at leasy, he was content to just watch, and to see how the conversation unfolded.

OOC: Sorry about the fairly short posts, I am posting from my phone, so obviously writing a lot can be fairly time consuming.

When Astrea caught the deep and penetrating gaze of Winter, everything seemed to freeze and fade away like water. There was something mysterious about him that reflected in his deep eyes, surely he wasn't human. She almost didn't even hear his slightly threatening words as she became lost in curiosity. Even though he slightly intimidated her she still kept her strong stance. Even though her expression faltered for a few seconds it quickly returned to the normal passionate burning iris they were before.

Through the midst of this conflict she saw that one more male being had joined in their group of hot and irritated feelings. She rolled her eyes and then stepped back a little. "You are all hopeless." She muttered to herself closing her eyes and threading her fingers through her long hair. She would just sit and see how things would play out; after all it was quite entertaining to watch these men assert their dominance over each other.

Meeting new people

Ahh… The great feeling of sovereignty and dominion over the small group had certainly cooled Winter for the moment; or so he thought; Aestrea was seemgly untouchable at that moment. Even so, it was indeed due time to give this group a chance to know each other, he was only causing trouble after all. He listens closely to the words of Maegon and once again, his ego pulls the best of him. A challenge being put, Winter could not and I repeat, he could not step back; it was like giving a fresh bone to a dog. “Out there? You? Put me in test? – his index finger hits Maegon’s chest. “Ha! You’ll be needing someone out there to watch your back… Give me the drill already.” – he accepts the proposal with not much thinking, attempting to impress both Maegon and the rest of the group.

Winter was indeed looking for a traveling partner and perhaps, even a bond mate in the middle of the city. This opportunity was priceless for him to say no, still, his ego automatically answered for him. He had no idea at all what Maegon could be asking him to do. For picking up a branch of a tree to scouting someone, anything could come out of the man’s mouth. With some heat of the moment still inside him, he decides to let out a small challenge for the others, perhaps wanting them to join his group, this would not only bring safety for himself and Maegon, but could also bring a small adventure to the group. “Heck.. Why don’t you guys tag along? We’ll have some fun and who knows what this little guy has in mind right?” – he smiles to the group, running his hand roughly in Maegon’s head, ruffling his hair. He tilts his head to Malemar offering him the challenge. Then back to Aestrea, gazing her beauty, he guides his eyes to hers. He blinks once more, with a smile on his face. If you want to discover a mystery you have to explore it further and eventually tag along in its obstacles right? This is the moment, if she had felt that away.

Malemar’s physical traits also pleased Winter, since he knew the man also cherished for his body, it would be of great help to have another well built person in the group, one more hand to lift the tent, and another one to heat up near the bonfire.

A little taken aback by the offer that had been put before him by the man, Malemar let an expression of bewilderment or even a slight one of shock cross his face. He quickly rearranged his facial features into a slightly more respectable expression though, under the scrutiny of the Kelvic. Could this be a trap? Some cunning plan of the Kelvics to lure him into the wilderness and then... No. There was something in Winters tone that suggested an air of honesty, or at least part of the way there. "I will take you up on your offer. Friend?"

He extended a hand towards the other man in a gesture of good will.

"Also, I don't believe I have introduced myself. I am Malemar Syrus. Call me what you will"

Meeting new people

The scholar saw his chance to drop in now as the tension seemed to have decreased. He noted the introduction of Malemar and the slightly uncertain manners of the group, concluding that they all had just met recently. As such he figured he had a higher chance of admittance to enter their conversation.
Rovan approached the group slowly, leaning in towards the young and hooded man.
"Quite an intriguing gathering you have assembled here. Very unique -- not something you see every day within these walls," he stated, speaking in a low tone to Maegon. His lips curled faintly into a wry smirk as he took Winter in view, clearly the dominant figure and likely eager to keep his high status. He looked back at Maegon and licked his lips in a brief pause, as if tasting his next words before uttering them in his rhetorical manner of talking.

"Forgive me for so rudely barging into your conversation, but if my ears do not fail me, I believe I heard you speaking of a journey into the wilderness, correct?"

Meeting new people

Postby Maegon on March 22nd, 2011, 5:30 pm

Things were going way too well for Maegon. Out of his hope to recruit one, and his previous fear of getting in trouble, he got one down and two challenged. Maegon wasn't too sure about Astrea, but Malemar, as he introduced himself, seemed very forward to joining them, or at least joining the Kelvic. It would do; as long as they actually got something, and ended up with no permanent damage, Maegon couldn't care less about who was leading. The Kelvic's ruffling of Maegon's hair seemed a bit patronizing, as if he was purposefully boasting of his physical dominance, but he kept his composure, the greater goal always in mind.

As Maegon started talking, a new man joined the fray. This one was tall, like both Malemar and the Kelvic, but slim, with well-kept hair and a good presentation, although his slight paleness and goatee made him look slightly villanous. Maegon felt less confident in this one's presence: his abilities kept him confident among men who fought with their bodies, but with other "soldiers of the mind", especially a smooth talker like this one seemed, he was no match. A small, discreet breathing in and breathing out to keep calm, and Maegon answered the newcomer. "Yes, that is what we were talking about right now." Turning again to the Kelvic and the rest, he decided that the middle of the street might not be the best place to discuss a journey to the wilderness. "If none of you mind, could we discuss the details in a less crowded place?"

Astrea simply stood in the background listening to the men’s conversation, but once the topic of going into the wilderness was brought up a small spark of interest reflected in her eyes. She had never been out of the town of Syliras since she was always confined to the orphanage by her care takers. She wondered if it would be ok if she followed along or if it was rude for a young teenage girl to follow them and watch them fight. She was actually curious about how the turnout of the duel would end up as so that was another reason why she would want to go with them. "I'm coming with you." She stated confidently looking to each person with her hazel eyes.

Meeting new people

Postby Malemar on March 22nd, 2011, 9:42 pm

Hearing what the man planning the expedition had said, Malemars eyes glistened with excitement. He had been in the city for no more than three weeks, but was growing restless. He seeked adventure, excitement and who knows, maybe even riches. He didn't like to be cooped up within the city for too long, being a country boy at heart. This could be just the adventure he needed. He wanted to know more about the journey that this man had planned and was more than eager to get going. But the man had said he wished to discuss the finer details of the trip in a more private location, and Malemar knew that it was probably for the best that they did. The details were as of yet unknown to him, but he would know, sooner rather than later he hoped.

Looking to Astrea, he noticed the same look of eagerness and excitement upon her face as he was certain must be upon his. He turned around again to regard the man with the proposition, this time speaking to him directly. "What of Astrea? The girl you see before you. She can attend also if she so wishes?" He stood again, arms folded, but in such a way now as to make his sword visible within its sheath. "I suppose that this may come in handy as well." A cheeky grin was on his face now, a happy one however. Malemar had never had many friends before coming to the city of Syliras, but now maybe, the opportunity seemed to present itself to make a few friends. It was a possibility. Maybe some of them could even become vital allies. The Gods only know, he would need friends in the city. Friends who knew what they were doing, or at least better than he.
