You possess skin as untouched snow, and graceful hair as a winter's night." -- Rovan to a mirror. Rovan is a lean figure, standing as tall as he is. He fashions dark, neatly slicked back hair and a small goatee, in an attempt to give himself a sharp and well-kept look, despite the dark circles under his eyes and his untrained body. His skin is pale and barely suntouched, being the testament to his indoor and urban nature. His eyes are gray, and his nose is slightly crooked, being one of his "soft spots" for commenting. This man moves with careful steps, treading lightly as if each step was planned ahead. He has an air of aloofness and posture of importance. He is usually dressed in a black robe, and he carries a few silver rings on his fingers as sparse adornment. Character Concept "One must know the rules, to learn how best to beat them." Rovan is a vain and plotting scholar. It is clear to see he regards himself as the smartest and most handsome man walking the earth - often speaking in unecessarily complicated sentences simply to proove his intellectual superiority. This tends to have many regard him as arrogant, and as such he has difficulity in gaining trustworthy friends. Despise his evident ego, he is very observative. He often make use of his sharp eye to details and persuasive manners of rhetoric in dealing with almost any situation. While being skillful at analysing, he lacks the abillity to act on impulse. Every action must be well-planned - else it is a rash and foolish thing to do. Intrigant as he is, Rovan is the sort of person to set things in motions through others. He thrives at revealing (or creating) schemes and plots of deception, with little regard to the possible consequences it might have for anyone else. Quirks and characterisms - Cares immensely about his appearance, always striving to keep it (as he regards) perfect. Reflections of himself tend to distract him. - Lacks physical training and stamina. - Is seldom very genuine, often found with a faint smirk creeping over his mouth. - Carries a distinctive dislike to animals, forever afraid they may contaminate him with all kinds of diseases. This lack of trust goes both ways, as horses usually try to throw him off and dogs bark wildly after him.

Character History "I have read many stories of the world. What fables speak of is one thing - the truth, another. I seek to see the legends with my own eyes, then transer it purely to the written word." Rovan was born into a wealthy merchant family in Zeltiva as the second son. His father bought and sold goods from exotic lands and the various ships arriving in port, which gave a good income. The family was therefor able to pay for Rovan's education, as they found he had a quick mind and affinity for writing. But besides the fortune, little good was to be said of Rovan's childhood. His father was a stern man and a rough father figure who took it upon him to learn his children of principles and prober manners. Rovan left his home with both uncertainty and a new sense of freedom, as he gained some distance to his dominating father. He spent his whole youth in the largest university of Zeltiva amongst scholars and tutors, learning about the world through scrolls and books rather than experiance. As he finished his eductation at an age of 25, the business of his family was faltering. Due to misfortune and stormwrecked cargo ships, his father's income became minimal. He had to set out on his own and make a living in the city with what skills he had learned, lacking the past support of his family. He had difficulity in living the city-life at first, but after a few years he adapted to it and how to be amongst its citizens. He learned to scrutinise and analyse every person's behavior, helping himself to feel above them as he could pin their behaviors down to a series of chainreactions. Rovan is still a scholar and investigator at heart. He earns his daily bread on tutoring and teaching the art of writing to children and youngsters belonging to the upper class of society. Although, when a given oppertunity allows him to, he greatly enjoys work of information gathering or puzzle solving. But recently his goal has broadened. From all the heroic legends and sagas he has read through his education, he now wants to write his own book of epic tales. In the hopes of finding worthy and potentional heroes, he has now begun traveling through the land and has reached Syliras thus far, famed for its prosperity and grand order of Knights. Rovan's main goal is to fill in the pages of his book with chosen heroes and immortalise grand deeds - and perhaps experiance true adventure himself compared to the cloistered life he has lived.
