Jokor growled in irritation when the squire slapped away his meager attempt of a stab with his shield, nearly slapping the dagger out of his hand in the process. Jokor guessed that the only reason he hadn't lost his weapon was because the squire didn't hit harder, quickly stepping back to give himself some breathing room. His opponent however didn't plan on giving him any quickly rushing towards him, trying to avoid the blow jokor threw himself backwards narrowly avoiding the blow of the shield, falling hard enough on the ground after that to knock most of the air out of his lungs. Quickly climbing back onto his feet while shaking his head to get rid of the black spots stumbling back into something that resembled a fighting stance.
He narrowed his eyes at the squire as he waited for him to make his move. He had to admit this guy was a lot better then he thought. A wicked grin came over his face. But he was still a knight, and those played fair.

2 sides of a bathered coin [dimitri]

Dimitri watched the man fall into the dirt and quickly scramble back up. Dimitri gave him no time to recover however. He kept his shield high, crouched down, keeping his eyes on the man's torso. He kept his shield up not only to fight with, but knew the type of fighters this man seemed to fall in. And that type almost religiously liked to fling dirt into an opponent's eyes. He quickly closed the gap to the man. He planted his right leg in-between the attacker's own feet. He kept his shield between his chest and the man's right hand, filled with the dagger he awkwardly held. He kept his sword free as he pivoted hard, looking to bash the man's right hand torso and arm, the pivot sliding his foot in behind his opponents left foot. As the left side of the Squire's body swung forward, he brought his blade slicing toward the man's open left ribs, ready to flip the blade to the flat side before contact.

Jokor's wicked grin was still in place when the squire charged towards him, hiding behind that big shield of him, he wasn't going to get that squire as long as he had that shield or that longsword. As soon as the man set his foot in between his own legs jokor ducked threw himself on the ground to his left, hoping that his small stature would allow him to pas underneath that swing with not to many problems. As he did that though he tried to ram his dagger into the man's leg, hoping to take away his mobility so that he could get at the man's back and get him to give up.

hope I didn't do anything that won't work in this thing -__-;

Dimitri watched the small man dive away into the dirt. Dimitri shifted his weight to his shield leg, making it the new pivot, and kicking his right leg back, narrowly avoiding the dagger that was trying to plunge into his leg. Does he not know this is a sparring match?!? Dimitri subsided the small rage growing in him. He pulled his sword downward in midswing, looking to strike the man atop the the dagger hand.

Dimitri closed the gap, lowering his shield to prevent the dagger from slipping beneath it. He then pulled his sword back from it's last swing. He made for a lethal looking stab at the man's chest. If he had intended to land it, the man would die. But Dimitri pulled the feint at the last second, distracting him from his left foot swinging toward the man's head. The shield helped to both protect his legs from attack and helped to hide the attacking leg. As he pulled his sword back from the feint he kept it ready to parry away that dagger again if needed.

Jokor let out a pained yelp followed by a stream of curses as his opponent hit him on the back of his hand with the flat of his sword. Causing him to drop his dagger on the ground as he rolled the rest of his body out of harms way. At least until the man went for a stab at his chest. His eyes widened in fear as he saw the sharp blade making its way towards him. His instinct taking over he crouched down for a split second before jumping away from the squire, his kick missing him with a few inches, falling on the ground more then landing on the ground a few feet away and quickly scrambling back on his feet getting some more space between him and that guy's sword.
Giving a quick glance towards the fallen dagger jokor mentally disregarded the notion of getting it back this fight and he rather kept the other dagger tucked in his belt a surprise for when that mans guard was down.
Clenching his hands into fists he glared at the man, waiting for the mans next move.

2 sides of a battered coin [dimitri]

Dimitri planted the kicking leg down hard, straining his leg muscles slightly, as he flexed it hard, and used it to surge him forward. He saw the man fall, and scramble, and rise weaponless. But this was a spar, he couldn't stop, hand to hand was deadly in the right hands. He learned that lesson along time ago from a blind man. He saw the man ready to punch, so Dimitri decide to strike low. By cocking his left arm up near his right shoulder, he brought it down toward the left side of the man's left ankle. He didn't go full strength, for if the bottom edge struck as intended, it would shatter his ankle or leg bones. Instead he did it in such so if it hit, it would sweep the feet from him with nothing more than a severe bruise.

He also drew his sword down and stabbed up toward the man's face. The blade would travel between the man's fists. Dimitri aimed it to be just right of the man's head. If the man moved closer, Dimitri would punch him with his hilt enclosed fist in the nose or cheek. If he didn't move or backed away, he'd slap him in the face with the flat of the blade. These maneuvers combined would leave Dimitri's right ribs open, should the shield not topple the man.

Jokor's scowl deepened as he saw the shield going towards his ankles and quickly took a step back to prevent it from breaking his ankles the shield burrowing a slight grove into the ground, Ducking his already small body a bit together as he began to move towards the squires right side, using his left fist to whack the squires sword away from its course towards his head,Letting it harmlessly sweep through the air. His right arm shooting out and attempting to grab the elbow of the squires sword arm, hoping to prevent him from simply pulling back and ramming his elbow against him or turn and keep his now open right side out of his reach.
Simultaneously he clenched his left hand, not knowing if the opening would be there long enough for him to draw his dagger, and threw a punch at the exposed ribs of the squire and though jokor didn't really look like somebody who was able to put a lot of power behind his punch with such a scrawny body, his punches would really hurt if they landed on a person.

2 sides of a battered coin [dimitri]

He saw the man step back and avoid the shield swing. He continued the swing upward and away. His sword was punched away, and he brought that in a downward swing to his left. This left his right side incredibly vulnerable. Which his opponent took full advantage of by delivering a powerful punch to his kidney. It sent a strong spike of pain up his back, and Dimitri knew it would bruise and be sore for a while, but wouldn't hinder him much now.

Dimitri took a single step forward, away from his hidden attacker. He planted that foot facing the side and kicked his other leg around, turning on his right foot like a pivot. As he did this he swung his blade at where he estimated his opponents head to be, since he couldn't see him while he turned. He held the blade flatways so if it struck, it wouldn't kill him, but rather more likely knock him down, and possibly out. As he pulled the swing across, he pulled his shield in tight to protect and react to whatever counter his opponent managed to use. As he finished the sweeping turn about, he would pull his blade back in, regardless if he struck anything and would stab down between the man's legs. By doing so he hoped to scare the man, and if his reactions were slow, he'd smack him hard on the side of the left knee, hoping to hobble him temporarially.

Jokor felt a bit of satisfaction creep into his mind as his fist hit the man. The feeling quickly faded when he saw that the man wasn't that slowed down by his punch in the least, as the man showed by just stepping forward and did a pivot on his right foot swinging his sword at him and keeping his shield close to him so that he didn't give him an opening to strike back.

Ducking underneath the sloppily aimed sword strike, Jokor let out a small string of curses when as soon as the man finished the turn once again swung at his legs, hoping to knock him to the ground or slow him down.
Barely jumping backwards in time to dodge the strike of the squires sword, he stared again at the squire, mentally cursing himself for not taking the chance of hitting him with that dagger in the side, he probably would have won if he did that. Or at least slowed him down with the pain of the slash for a bit.
With that tower shield and his sword jokor would have to be lucky once again to land another blow. Narrowing his eyes in determination he settled on his course of action. The next time the squire attacked he would get either the sword out of the mans grasp or the shield or lose trying!

2 sides of a battered coin [dimitri]

Postby Dimitri on May 7th, 2011, 7:33 pm

As soon as Dimitri saw the man leap backwards from his attack, Dimitri darted forward. He raised his shield arm to chest level, his muscles straining to lift the heavy weight higher than normal. He then made a back handing motion with his arm, causing the bottom half face of the massive tower shield to swing up and over in a sweeping motion. This would cause the steeled face of the shield to crash into the side of the man's face, if he didn't move. If it landed it would likely knock him unconscious, and leave some facial damage.

As he swung his shield, his sword wasn't slacking. He swung it upwards, fronting a slash up the middle, bringing the blade tip as close to the man's torso as was within his skill. He may have even lightly slashed or nicked the front of the man. As his feint swung upwards he punched his sword arm forward toward the man's upper chest. If struck, the hilt guard of his blade would jab hard and painfully into the man's sternum, possibly cracking it, at the very least, knocking the wind out of him, and throwing him off balance. If he turned or moved to either side he ran the risk of it contacting his collar bone which would break under the attack. However, if he held true to all of his reactions thus far, he would likely step or jump back. Dimitri was prepared for this as well. He was prepared to turn the punch into a downward swing, which would bring the flat of his blade down hard upon the man's head.
