D'Varrus Tomva
✨Appearance✨
Race: Kelvic
Gender: Male
Age: Three years old
Birthday: 8th of Spring, 519 AV
Birthplace: Ravok
Appearance:
In his human form, D’Varrus appears as a young man in his early twenties with dirty blond hair and luminous golden eyes tinged with red. His body type could best be described as tall, and lean. He currently stands at six foot one, and weighs around one hundred and sixty seven pounds. Another distinguishing characteristic that shows his kelvic nature are the thick, slightly elongated canines on the top and bottom of his mouth. His tongue is similar to his jaguar form, covered in the same rough papillae though this is hard to learn from casual observation.
His kelvic form is that of a mature jaguar. Standing at about 27 inches tall, and weighing around 200 lbs, D’Varrus is a formidable predator in his kelvic form and acts like it. Standing still, one can get a proper look at his thick limbs and square head, as well as he reddish yellow coat that its covered in black spots that are solid around his head and neck, then verge into rosettes where they branch out onto his sides towards his white underbelly. These spots form tightly grouped bands as they cross his tail.
✨Character Concept✨
D’Varrus Tomva wasn’t meant to be free. He had been raised in the KRI facillity, and purposefully kept unbounded until he became of age. So when the opportunity to get away came, he readily seized at the chance, escaping only to find himself in an entirely different sort of world. One that was in some ways far more punishing than the one he had known, and one D’Varrus quickly learns will take more than his own strength to survive in.
✨Character History✨
D’Varrus Tomva was born in the KRI facility, and never got a chance to know either of his parents before he was sequestered into his own cage for study. At first they paid little to no attention to him at all, just doing the bare basics to keep him alive until one day he showed that his kelvic form was that of a jaguar. That day was a particularly special day in D’Varrus’ mind as he got moved to a bigger cage, and they started bringing him more food, the good stuff like heaps of raw meat. Occasionally they would even bring in small animals, which tasted even better when he managed to catch them. Things had just started looking up for him when one day they started bringing in chained prisoners, wanting him to do with them as he had done with the small animals.
D’Varrus didn’t want to at first, but then they started prodding him with sharp sticks until finally he did as they wanted. Always after such a demonstration they would feed him lavishly, and his one consolation was the fact that these shows were few and far between at first. Slowly though, they ramped up until it seemed he was doing them once a tenday until blessedly they ceased all together after one last particularly bloody performance. The next day he left Ravok, told only that he had been purchased and they were on their way to his new owner.
However, D’Varrus never got the chance to see this new owner. Along the way, just off the coast of Falyndar, the ship he was on got battered pretty bad by a fierce spring storm. The next day, while they were floundering out in the water, some men pulled alongside them with blue eyes, and fierce looks. There was plenty of shouting, and then fighting. Someone came below decks during the commotion and to his surprise, opened his cage.
Of course, D’Varrus tried backing all the way up into a corner of his cage as the man wielded one of those sharp sticks, but again the man surprised him by setting the stick down and offering him a goblet of raw meat which he took cautiously. Then strangely, the man left. As the fighting intensified above deck, D’Varrus probed his new surroundings and eventually wound up above deck where he suddenly found himself dodging armed men left and right. Not wanting to get prodded or cut by one of the weapons they wielded, D’Varrus took the only avenue available to him, hopping over the edge of the ship where he landed in the shallows.
He paddled quickly the short distance to the white sand beach before he chanced to look behind him, and once he was sure that no one was following him, he darted into the jungle hopping to get lost for a time. Little did he know how ill advised that was as he did not skirt long through the thick jungle before emerging close to a sandy beach that smelled of pigs, and closer still to a settlement he had never heard of before. Syka.
