Timestamp: 50th of Spring, 511AV Status: Open to all! All Lhavitians spend the majority of their lives showing their devotion to their Goddess. They celebrate it on certain days especially this one, being of the utmost importance and signifying the anniversary of Lhavit’s unique creation, and the gift their sacred Lady bestowed upon them as an act of divine generosity. A Lhavitians love for Zintila is ingrained, wholesome, pure, and it shows by the grandeur of which the festival exhibits. Several nights before the festival began the preparations were already being made. Merchants were slowly building up merchandise over time to sell to the people who would be congregated at the Surya Plaza, restaurants stocked on food and carts overflowing with goods. Decorations were hauled out ready for display, and when the night finally arrived on 50th of Spring, people from all five of the peaks pooled from their glowing homes in droves, dressed in fine white garments of flowing fabric and crystal masks placed upon their heads. Everything was lavishly prepared. From the banquets set aside on the corners of the Plaza to the carts brimming with merchandise to the large, reserved portions of the Plaza set aside for the majestic Taiyang and Chandra performers. The festival would not officially begin until the Star Lady gave the word, and the majority of the Lhavitian population trailed into the area to look upon the steps of the Koten Temple, where the Seiza, headed by the Anchorite, adorned in their pearl-white robes flanked either side of the steps, and finally the glittering and graceful form of the Star Goddess emerged from the grand double doors. There was no mistaking her radiance. She was otherworldly beautiful and her presence instilled in the Lhavitians who gazed upon her a protective obedience, where they kowtowed in a display of love. This was, to the natives, a day of worship. But to Zintila, who gazed upon them all with only a mother’s love held up her glittering hand, and the stars overhead bloomed with a light that twinkled through the Akajia’s veil. The crowd listened intently as she spoke. “Another Spring has arrived; a renewal of hope and rewards, of faith and survival,” Her voice was serene, ringing out among the four corners of the Plaza, “The anniversary of Lhavit is nigh, and it is a time for all of you to make use of the night of relaxation you all deserve. Let your hearts no longer be troubled, and let the guidance of my stars brighten this time of joy.” The festivities had officially begun. Among several corners spanning the peak there were groups forming. There was one consisting of storytelling, where those who enjoyed spinning tails could compete to win copious amounts of kina. In another corner was the acrobatics show, a dueling ring where men and women could fight to win a reward and another group centered around a stall where many citizens were busy preparing their lanterns for the height of the festivities not far off. Near the Koten Temple, a line of worshippers awaited their personal meeting with the Star Lady, granting her gifts and prayers for the year’s good fortune. oocWelcome to the Star Festival! The last paragraph of this introduction is for those who may be interested in each of these "groups" that are currently ongoing during the festivities. If your character wishes to join in one of them simply mention it in your post and in my next post I will write up the introduction to that event. You needn't join, but it's something to think about. If it wasn't clarified above, the events are: Storytelling, Dueling, Acrobatics (dancing), Crafting (Lanterns), and meeting Zintila. Other than this, have fun and don't forget to socialize! |
