Siola

Name: Siola
Age: 493 AV (18 years old)
Gender: Female
This being before you is a commonly seen female of the human race, who passes under the name of Siola. she was born under the full moon of the winter of 493 AV making her 18 years old, a teenager at most. She doesn’t pass under many other names due to preference, but is happy to be called ‘Si’ if people wish to shorten her name. Any other names annoy her. She was born in the city of Zeltiva in the region of Sylira. Despite her connection to this city, as it being her families origin, she is a traveller at heart, although, like many from this lake side town, she prefers to travel by water, letting the lull of the sea take her to the place she wishes to go.

Physical Description

Siola is of a relatively small height, standing at around 5 foot 3 off the ground, despite this, she doesn’t find this a problem, even when quite a lot of people stand taller than her by quite a significant amount. Her build is slight and slim, making her appear weaker than she actually is. This can misleading to opponents she encounters, letting them believe that she is an easy target, which isn’t always the case, depending on her status at the time. Her muscles are there but not very defined, she gained them from working on the boat her parents owned on the lake by her city. She spent most of her childhood there so she knows it back to front and can often be found sitting there. Her hands are scarred and calloused from having to scramble up ropes etc on the merchanting ships in the summer when she is trying to make ends meat with the bare money she can get from the passers by.

She isn’t exactly the most stable person on her feet, causing her to fall over simple surfaces or stumble at least once, this causes her to often have some sort of bandage on her, despite her determination to not let it slow her down. She isn’t one to cry at times and people find it hard to read her emotions at certain times due to the fact her expressions don’t give away a lot due to the fact she is used to being left alone and not talking to people for long amounts of time.

Her skin is a light tan colour most of the year around, although, in the summer, when the sun is high in the sky for a longer amount of time, her tan deepens, although she hardly ever get’s burnt from the suns intense rays. On her right shoulder she has a birth mark, which is no recognizable shape but is darker than the rest of her skin.

Her face shape is a heart, with relatively high cheek bones with a sprinkle of freckles over her nose from being outside too long. She has grey eyes, which verge on blue, which she gained from her fathers side of the family and also long brown hair, which reaches just below her shoulder blade when it’s dry as her hair waves slightly naturally, but when it had been soaked with rain it reaches just above the middle of her back, give or take a few centimetres.

Her clothes are simple and worn with various patches on them, she wears simple trousers with a shirt from what she picks up around the city for bargain prices. Due to the recent downfall of her parent’s business, she buys what she can afford, which often means it’s second hand and not the best of shape. Around her wrist she wears bracelets made of dyed string, one for each year since her birth. She chooses the colour to do with what suits her and sums up that year. Her bracelets are a code that no one but the most trusted of her allies understand.

Character Concept

Although Siola may not be the most talkative of people you could hope to meet, she’s kind hearted at the best of times, even though it may be difficult to sense it due to the fact she barely utters a word to people she’s never met, making her seem like a mute. This small part of her personality is due to the fact she is used to being in the shadow’s of people most of the time, not really being noticed, but always there, watching in the background. Something that lurks in the back of your mind.
At times she can be stubborn and loose her temper easily, depending on the situation at hand. She gains this from her father and can sometimes lash out at the wrong time. Which pulls her into fights when she doesn’t want it, or at worst ends her up in a hospital, which happens rarely.
. Another side of her that she is quite judgemental and blunt, and can ask questions that people either don’t want to answer or want to talk about. Her judgemental side causes her to make up her mind quickly about people without really knowing the consequences of her actions, which many make them believe she is careless.

She’s a bit of an optimist and see’s the brighter sides of things, which causes her nature to be laid-back at the best of times, often singing to herself (relatively badly most of the time) or just generally being a good person to be around.

When she finally makes friends and they gain her trust, she’s extremely trustworthy and doesn’t let the people she trusts down. She’s loyal and will stand up for you no matter what the consequences, even if it ends in a fight. Sorcha is a down to earth sort of person when it comes together all in all, even though in front of people she behaves differently than she does when she’s with her family or friends

Likes – not talking all too much, the occasional street fight, travelling and reading
Dislikes – bugs, small spaces.

Character History
Pre-Creation
Siola’s immediate family consists of her two older twin brothers, Jared and Samuel, and her mother and her father. Her father is never usually at home, due to the fact that after the family ‘hotel’ ended, he became a trader and spends most of his time travelling through the surrounding regions, trying to haggle with most of the more friendly species that want to buy the wares of Zeltiva. Due to the large amounts of merchants around, money is slow.

Siola learnt from an early age not to rely on her family, as they will often let her down, this causes her to often go off on her own and be her own person. Not returning to her family for long amounts of time. She spends quite a lot of her time in the capitol, acting as an entertainer with her musical and acrobatic skills she learnt from the people who lived on the sea’s.

She gets on with her older brothers reasonably well, as they have all learnt to live with each other over the years. They often bicker about pointless things, as many siblings often do without knowing. When all 3 of the siblings this often annoys their parents due to the fact it usually ends with them all shouting at one another.

Siola’s parents owned a hotel for the travellers that passed by, and Siola loved to hear the tales of the races they had seen, the different cities and regions they had travelled to. She was given a map by one of them and from that day Siola seemed determined to travel to all these places, marking each one she was told about with a dot of charcoal or coal which had been left lying around the place.

As many children do from every nation, she attended school and excelled at it due to her determination to do well in life and to let no one stop her at all costs, she wasn’t exactly the most popular person at school so instead of hanging around with other girls her age, she followed her brothers around, loyal like a hound to it’s master. This, sometimes, got on their nerves but their mother and father told them to deal with it and let her be.

Soon after leaving school the family were left to rags after a fire was started at the hotel by accident, causing the whole place to go up in flames. With no livelihood, they had to move to the outskirts of town, making ends meet and trying to get by. After a year of living rough, Siola’s father declared he was going to travel over to the next region to see if he could be employed by a merchant, to get into a new business. This seemed to be a good choice and in the end the family were able to get a little money.

Her first job was at the shipyards, helping run errands etc, she learnt the trade of sailing quickly and found it was something she lived to do. Finding her place more so in the sails that on the ground.

Siola first travelled to the capitol on her own at the age of 16, wanting to see the world herself, she loved if there but knew she couldn’t stay at her current age, but vowed to return one day. Every two weeks or so she would travel up their with some of the sailors from the town and then busks at the entrance, avoiding the guards and other bards which could chase her out

Now she has decided to leave home for good at the age of 18 and travel the land and see what is happening and if the stories are true,
