While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Many adventurers, despite their differences, can all agree on one thing to be certain. That thing is the notorious stench of the bog. What can only be described as a corpse rotting on a pile of dung, most people tend to avoid the area altogether. However, the Filrian Bog was precisely where Bellerophon Sunstride was heading.

He had arrived in Syliras, where he had effectively bummed around until he found a job. Apparently the population of unusually-sized-spiders had increased lately, and there were many interested parties to see their demise. Whether they sought the hides, wanted the threat to be eradicated before it was too late, or both did not much matter to him. Mostly it was something to do and a bit more coin in his pocket. He had set out a day after, making sure to purchase some new buckskin armor and a rather large, rather sharp greatsword. As effective bug-squisher as ever there was one, he thought with a happy smile.

Through most of the journey to the Wildlands Bellerophon accompanied a caravan as a mercenary. It wasn't particularly eventful, he spent basically the entire trip listening to an old man tell local folktales from his seat on the wagon Bellerophon was walking behind. Eventually the time came for them to part ways, and Bellerophon began to cross over into the Bog.

The smell wafted over him like a disgusting cloud, instantly causing a retching motion and a quick nose covering. "Lets hope I don't run into any of 'em before I get used to this smell." He thought out loud.

Carry on, nothing equals the splendor
The center lights around your vanity
But surely heaven waits for you"
