Avaltri crawled forward a bit further, retrieved the forty Mizas from a pouch, and reached above her to put them on the edge of the registrar's desk.

"Who do I turn to for the accomodations? And where do I find information on where and when exactly the classes start?"

It was not pleasant, but after all, such things had to be sorted out to make her life here work.

"Do not panic," Sanderson said, placating the Akvatari's worries. Her race were prone to their emotions, namely melancholy. He wondered if she'd be able to cope with the discipline and rigour required at the University.

"Here are the keys to your dormitory, the number is on the fob," he said, placing keys down on the desk, "and you will have a pack with all your timetables and other information arrive at your dormitory shortly. I wish you the best of luck with your studies."

"Oh, thank you very much!" Avaltri was pleasantly surprised: these people were very thoughtful. She took the keys and was slightly amused at the thought that unfortunately, they would probably not open the windows. But if she was lucky and didn't have a place on the ground floor, she would be able to just leave them open. "Good bye, and thank you for your assistance."

Calmly, she made slow her way past the curious eyes of the people in the queue back outside, and when she was finally in the open again, she beat her wings and soared up in the air above the university grounds.

5th day of Spring, 512 AV

Who would've thought a man like Idue would be enrolling in a university after all he had been through. The Benshira had lived his entire life tending to the herds of his family. He learned nothing more than what was needed to care for his animals. And to defend himself if danger ever found him. Which was worth it because he found exactly that in Sunberth. He didn't find his mother, nor did he discover his desire to get an education. But after arriving in Zeltiva, and surviving the storm that wrecked the city, Idue decided he wanted to learn something practical while he was here. Become intelligent before he died. Which in a life Idue had been living, this probably wasn't so difficult.

So Idue visited the University where only days before he nearly witnessed a man die. A mere outing to a Ball ended up to be the biggest danger Zeltiva had seen. Atleast until six days later when the storm hit. And Idue was sad to say he enjoyed the danger at the Winter Ball. The wariness that any of this rich snobs could be a murderer. Even watching blood flow from Faylon, a man he considered a friend in this city, was vigorating. Idue was glad the man recovered, or was recovering, but that fateful night brought out the thing Idue was tried to bury away. His bloodlust.

Which was why Idue decided to enroll into the University; to find something to fill his time. Something to take his mind off of spilling blood, his weakness that no follower of Yahal should enjoy. So after being directed to the East Wing where temporary registering were being held; the person Idue had spoke to said something about the West Wing being demolished in the storm. While he walked down the halls, Idue considered what classes he wanted to take. He had decided after speaking with the student that he only wished to take two classes. This way he still had part of his life to do as he pleased. And the man had said two classes meant he would be provided a dorm to stay in for the season. That had peaked Idue's interest. He enjoyed the inn he was staying at, but a dorm where he knew he would have for a whole season was inviting.

But what classes would he take? The man Idue had spoken to, who the Benshira had realized was very helpful, explained a few of the classes one could take at this school. No martial training, so Idue wouldn't be hacking on other students with his axes. And he wasn't very interested in the fine arts like painting or acting. Magic on the other hand peaked Idue's interest. The student had mentioned a few classes like morphing, glyphing, and flux. The first two he didn't understand very well, and flux was something he had briefly seen in action. But one magical disipline interested him. Auristics. The ability to see the aura of those around you. That was something Idue could learn to use.

So caught up in his personal thoughts, Idue barely registered that he was standing in front of the clerk. The question the man, who introduced himself as Sanderson. The man was rather mischevled, brought upon by the west wing crumbling. So Idue was brief. "My name is Idue and I wish to study at the University. The courses I desire to study in is Auristics and. . ." Idue paused. He had thought so hard on his first course that he didn't decide on his second. His brow furrowed, and released the first thought that came to mind.

"What history classes do you offer at the University?"

Sanderson looked up from his reverie. A budding student - there weren't so many coming to his relocated desk in recent times. But now he was based in the East Wing, his previous home had half collapsed in the storm.

Sadness swelled in his heart. The ancient building had crumbled around him, and he had only just escaped with his life. He remembered vividly, walking back the next day, and standing amongst the rubble, countenance lost in a forlorn longing for the past.

"Auristics..." Sanderson repeated, noting the class choice down absently, and then looked up at the mention of history. An honourable subject - if a little ironic in present climate. "There are a few options. We have a Zeltivan History Course. And then there's a more broad Regional Histories Course, where you get to study the History of a Region of your choice. What do you think of that?"

Idue stood patiently as Sanderson jotted down his first class choice. The Benshira wondered how someone could be so casual after such a storm. After he had lost the building he had done his work in for so long. Surely the man had come to enjoy his work space, only to have it ripped from him in this horrible storm; these odd city folk did silly things like this. Idue never got attached to something in the Burning Lands; at any moment, it could be lost to you. But Idue wasn't here to ponder this man's inner turmoils. He was here to get enrolled in classes and start getting an education.

As Sanderson explained the choices he could have for history, Idue pondered them in his mind. He could pick any region in the world to study, or just study the city itself. He would be lying if he said he wasn't curious what these Zeltivans actually knew about his Ekytol. Their history was probably assumptions and half-truth accounts from visitors. He could imagine the professor drone on about what they thought they knew. Water was scarce, sand got in places you didn't want it in, and it was petching hot. He didn't need to take a course on something so simple.

Learning about the other regions wasn't a bad idea either; who knew where he would go next. So knowing something about the places outside Zeltiva would benefit him in the long run. Although Idue felt he wouldn't be leaving Zeltiva anytime soon. He needed to settle himself as best as he could before he rushed out into the world again. Last time he did so, he left his family on a search for a woman who was probably dead. No, it would be best to know about the city you were staying in. It would've helped if he had known about Sunberth.

"I'll enroll on that course on the history of Zeltiva." There, he had his two course. Now he just had to pay for it. . .

Oh how he hated to spend money.

"Count yourself enrolled," Sanderson replied with a wan smile. His enthusiasm had gone with the storm. "It's forty miza's for those two classes, and that also entitles you to a rent free dormitory on campus if you so wish? The living quarters held up quite well in the storm."

Idue merely nodded when Sanderson told him that he was enrolled. The Benshira could tell the man wasn't very happy with his current situation. And he respected his fighting through this struggle and still doing his job. Idue didn't know what he'd do if he lost the things he had for work. His axes. His physical ability. If he lost those, odds are he wouldn't carry on. Sure is probably wasn't a good comparison, phyiscal health and an office, but that was how Idue connected with the man. It allowed him to understand his depression instead of just brushing it off. It made Sanderson a person who mattered.

And now Sanderson was a person who was taking Idue's money. But he had expected to have to pay for his courses; they surely needed the income to help fund rebuilding. If they were even paying for it. SO idue reached into his pocket and counted out the forty miza. Handing them over to the man, he set the miza down in front of him. With that he retracted his hand as Sanderson mentioned rent free living quarters. That had caught Idue's attention, and almost immediately he decided that would be nice for him. No more paying for the inn he was staying at. "That would be nice. A place to stay where I know I'll have it for a while would be very nice."

With that, Idue would wait for Sanderson. Either he'll wait to listen to directions to his dorm, or even for the key. And then he'll leave. He had already spent enough time in this University for one day. It would be best to spend his free time wisely before he was caught up in his studies. It wouldn't be long before he would become educated. . .

Sanderson counted the forty mizas out and pulled the key fob from the shelf. He handed it to the man softly. What a time for new students to begin. Perhaps Zeltiva would be a very different city when it was rebuilt.

"You'll get the other bits of information at your dormitory."

He paused, sighing again. It was not this man's fault - he needed to do his duty for the University, even among the ruin. Putting on a smile, he nodded to the budding student.

"Good luck with your studies."

Spring - 5th - 512 AV

Standing among the throng of aspiring students and staff, Shadahl glanced around the university's entrance room with a distracted air about his person. His lips twitched, muttering indiscernible nothings under his breath as he was shuffled about and pushed forward in line. Before he knew it, the man was at the Registrar's desk. He blinked, the glassy-eyed look that had previously accompanied his face being replaced with an embarrassed one.

"A-ah." He smiled, getting a swift hold of himself. "I've shown up to apply for some classes.. Magecrafting and Animation. Do you have any availabilities?" After a moments pause Shadahl hastily added another question. "I'm also curious about the reputable lodging offered to students; is there an extra cost or does it simply come with the classes?"
