Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

He asked only because he didn’t want to push her into anything. He wanted to make sure that she was prepared. She answered him suddenly; almost without thinking at all. That meant to him that she was set in her path. That she knew what she wanted. The smile that returned to her lips brought a smile to his as well. Nodded confirming what she told him. He was ready to give her a try as well. What surprised him the most was that she was ready to give him a try even if she knew she would see his death. He knew that he would die by her side; and she would still be well. She would still be able to have children, she would still be fertile. But he would be deathly. But he couldn’t ponder on this now. No, he was here with her and he had to make the most of the short time in her life he had with her. She was just a blip on the radar for her. And he was going to make the time memorable for her. But he knew that he would have to really try to make himself memorable for her. Konti lived a long time; and he didn’t.

He couldn’t imagine the sorrow he would cause her when he passed on. But the truth was that he couldn’t imagine a life without love. Especially if he was meant to be with her in the first place. If he was meant to be with her then he was meant to be.

“I’m glad.” He said as he smiled and gently kissed her forehead.

“Now am I wasting your time? I have the day off, but do you?”
He asked as he quirked a smile.

Crashing (Angelique)

Postby Angelique on June 2nd, 2011, 3:47 pm

Taking note of where the sun was at in the sky now, she knew that it was a bit late for her to do what she had planned for the day. “I had things to do today, yes. However I was compelled to come to the beach first.” Angelique started then paused. “But then I met you and lost track of the time. I can always work extra hard tomorrow on the plans I had for today.” She finished. Her smile had widened by now since he had kissed her forehead.

How could she be rude and go do what was already planned for the day now? The Konti thought to herself for a moment before telling herself that she could not bring herself to leave just yet. “So, Serrif, what would you like to do now?” She asked before turning slightly to look back out over the water and wait for his response. She was not sure what else she should say or even do at this time, so she took a seat upon the sandy shore once again.

Crashing (Angelique)

Serrif smiled and well pondered. He was hungry. He hadn’t eaten yet and he was getting to the point where he would start having interesting stomach cramps if he didn’t find something to eat. He pondered some more and then spoke.

“Fishing would be nice, a fresh meal would be welcome for the both of us I am sure.” He looked out over the waves behind them and held her tight. He was still waiting to wake up in a way.

A part of him was still deathly afraid that he would wake up and find himself in that cage in the camp. That he would be cold and alone again. That all he would have to look forward to was the whip and the poison. And that just maybe they would poison him again so he could fall back into whatever trance he was in that brought him here in the first place. God he didn’t know what was going to happen now. What if he did wake up in that cage? What then? He couldn’t even begin to comprehend what he would do. What mental fissure he would have when he finally discovered that all this was some elaborate lie. But for now and here this was all he had. He was going to enjoy this even if it was an elaborate dream. The more he was here, the more sure he was that this was indeed reality. One that he was coming to like more and more. The peace he found here was astonishing. He was beginning to come to terms with everything that he had been through.

He nodded. “Or do you want to go into town to find something?” He posed.

He didn’t mind either way but fishing was more of his thing. That is why he suggested it. But he had been surviving on fish for some time now, maybe that was why he felt so good all the time. He heard fish were indeed good for your body. Especially when you needed to put on healthy weight and muscle; which he had indeed been doing for a good bit of time now. The fish had also made him feel better. He had learned the basics of cooking them but really honestly was no professional cook. No he was more of a survivalist. He cooked the food enough to eat it without killing him. He didn’t care much for presentation either; again something that others were worried with. As these thoughts came through his mind he then posed an alternate.

“Or how about fruit in a garden?”
He asked wanting to pose the adjustment. He wanted to impress her sometime with his skills. But fishing wasn’t really one of them. And his body was telling him to get food soon; and fishing wouldn’t do that.

Crashing (Angelique)

Postby Angelique on June 3rd, 2011, 4:13 pm

While listening to the waves crash against the rocks and shore still, Angelique heard his questions and ponder on an answer to which would be best. She knew that with fishing, there were times that one would have bad luck and not catch anything at all so she began to lean towards one of the other possible suggestions. Go into town or fruit from the garden?

Now this was a tough choice for her to make. Fruit from the garden would be the easiest choice, where as if they had gone into town in Mura, she would in fact accomplish some more exploring of the island. She might even be tempted to do some shopping while in town, especially if there happened to be anything within the shops there that caught her eye. Angelique pondered for a moment longer before deciding that she would love to go into town. “How about we venture towards the shops?” The Konti finally asked him while she kept the soft smile upon her lips.

As she had asked her question she had begun to secretly plot buying him a present, but what the woman could not be sure of yet. Angelique needed to go there with him to see what might interest him, and what would not.

She posed an interesting question to him. She wanted to venture toward the shops. He wasn’t sure where that was but he knew it was inland. Where they currently were the walk would take them about a good fifteen minutes if they had a normal pace. And well the sun was about twenty degrees short of being right over them. Meaning the shops would be open for a good amount of time more. That was good. It allowed them plenty of time to look everything over. He figured they would be doing a good amount of window shopping. Or so that is what he would make her believe. Maybe if he could come up with something to get her he would come back for it later. Maybe sometime tomorrow or something. Little did he know she had the same plan. This would be an interesting shopping experience.

He nodded. “I like that idea.” He walked up to his tent and picked out his coin bag and tied it at his waist. He then threw back on his long sleeved shirt and then threw on his cloak over that. He didn’t bother putting on his shoes. He didn’t like logging his boots around with him everywhere. And he saw that there were a good many Konti who wore sandals or such. And he figured that shoes were somewhat of an optional thing around here.

He came back and motioned for her. “Come now the shops await.” He smiled and motioned for her; he also offered her his arm to take as they walked to the shops. In a playful and happy manner.

It was strange that she would suggest that they go to the shops. He had an idea of where they were. But again he never really shopped for anything. He had fished for his food for about two months now. And well anything else he had. So there was little need for him to go and get anything. But truth be he was a little more interested in what she took an eye to. He wanted to know a little more about what kind of a woman she was. And getting to know what she liked was just going to be part of the process.

Angelique was surprised that Serrif liked her idea of heading to he shops located on Mura. She knew that there were not too many men who enjoyed going shopping. The Konti decided that if there was something that Serrif liked, that she would be sneaky in not buying it while he was around her. She would just wait until she were alone to buy it for him. As Angelique placed a gentle hand upon Serrif’s arm, after he had returned from getting his coin bag from his tent, she nodded to him once. “Shall we?” The Konti asked happily as they began their trip towards the shops.

A man who does not mind shopping. She thought to herself for a moment. This is indeed strange. Angelique’s thoughts changed to the weather for a moment as she felt a light gust of wind brush past her. “I cannot believe that it will be Summer again soon.” She stated before her thoughts changed again. What kind of things might catch his eye? The Konti pondered silently as they walked. Maybe some new fishing gear? No.She told herself knowing that she did not want to buy him something like that. Surely she would figure out something more meaningful that he may want when they get there.

Crashing (Angelique)

Serrif enjoyed browsing the shops for several reasons. The first being that he was sure Angelique would enjoy it. Women seemed to like browsing over various things and all. He wasn’t sure why but there it was. And the second reason being that the items available for purchase would help him determine what the culture was like. What a culture had for sale usually spoke to its cultural richness as well as history. And he knew the Konti people had a rich history to speak of; mostly because they had a very interesting relationship with the rest of the continent he could imagine. This was because they couldn’t reproduce by themselves. There were no Konti men. So in his mind that lead to interesting relationships between many other cultures. Also the Konti Isle seemed to be the place to go to if you needed healing. He never saw a culture that held healers in such high regard.

“Neither can I. But the seasons come and go. But I hear there are a good amount of semi celebrations in Summer. Can’t wait to see them.” He said honestly.

He wanted to become part of this culture. Again he knew he was only a short blip of time but he wanted to make a difference of some kind. He figured a good way to do this was to take up the art of healing. The more he understood the more he saw it as an actual art. Much like painting; only it involved people’s lives. Which made the art that much more important to fully understand. This being true he was beginning to absorb everything he could about the art. Every book, every word everything was important to him. He figured he would do something to really show the prowess of healing. But that was a long time down the line. For now he was just content with studying and practicing under the careful watching eyes of another healer.

Crashing (Angelique)

Angelique knew that she was not a healer. She wanted to become one of the best known seers in Mura. The Konti was already able to see people's pasts, or even just parts of them. Becoming of the few who were able to see into the future of others would take time, and she understood this. "Changing of the seasons is most definitely a given." She began to wonder about the celebrations and what they would be like this time around. "The celebrations are normally very wonderful." The Konti stated. Her thoughts drifted back to what may possibly catch his interest once they make it to the shops. There must be something that he wants, or needs. But what? She thought for a moment as they continued to walk towards the shops.

"So, once we get to the shops, where would you like to stop and get something to eat?" The Konti finally asked him. She knew that they could stop off at either The Pearl Divers Inn, or Forest Meridian House before continuing on with exploring the other shops. It did not seem to matter to Angelique which place they stopped at, so she felt it best to leave that decision up to Serrif. The Konti would then wait for his answer as to which place they would be stopping for food. As the continued to walk, she could hear the wind against the leaves of the nearby trees. It sounded like faint whispers in her ears as they passed.

“I have never been here to attend any celebrations for Summer. And lately I’ve been too busy to attend any celebrations for Winter or Spring.” He admitted. His time had been pretty consumed with Ildin and his studies at the temple. True Lym worked him hard; and Ildin prided herself in running him to the ground physically. But his skills with the bow had improved admirably; he could tell it in the way Ildin seemed to be really trying to stretch his skills to the limit. And they weren’t very high to begin with.

“We really have two popular choices. Either works for me I’ve never been to either. But I have heard good things about both of them. Especially the Pearl Diver Inn.” He thought about it all some more and then came to a conclusion eventually about where he would like to eat.

“The Pearl Diver would be wonderful.” He said smiling some. It was true that he had never been there but he had heard great things about it. And well he always wanted to go there; he just didn’t want to go alone. He didn’t want to appear alone, and be the center of someone else’s attention. And he thought it relatively socially inappropriate to go and eat alone at a nice dining establishment. But now that he had someone to go with that changed things a bit. And well made it easier for him to go and sit down and enjoy a meal.

He hears the trees whisper to him and well he enjoyed the feeling of the calming wind. It was serenity. Here on this isle he had found serenity among the gold haired Konti women. And he wondered who wouldn’t be able to find peace here. It seemed that at every turn he found another calming thing about the isle that he grew to love. From the rolling nearly endless beaches to the calming flat lake everything around and having to do with the water; everything tranquil and calm like the waters themselves. He wondered how everything could be so peaceful here. Even the training he received from Ildin was based around finding peace; even though he knew the skills she taught could be used for death. The skills Ildin was teaching him were dangerous and could easily make him a very dangerous ranged weapon. All that was preventing this was a shared understanding between them.

They approached the shopping town center area. There was a variety of shops her people were selling all kinds of things here; there was really a variety of smaller shops and all that sold all kinds of things. He looked around and well there were all kinds of things for sale. But one thing caught his eye almost immediately but he didn’t make it obvious. There was a small shop that was largely unmarked; actually it was completely unmarked. The only reason the shop caught his eye was a ivory white bow he saw against a far wall on a wall mount. It wasn’t strung but he could tell it was a recurved composite longbow. It was ornate looking indeed he wanted another look; but at the same time he wasn’t sure how she would react.

“One thing I find fascinating is that Konti artisans can make anything both functional and beautiful.”
Such had been his experience with the refined items that the Konti offered to the rest of the trade world.

“Here is a perfect example.” He said no longer able to contain himself. He then guided her into the small shop. On the walls there were various bows and such. Some longbows, some shortbows; there were also all kinds of various makes, come recurved some not. They were of all lengths as well, blurring the line between longbow and shortbow in some instances. But the one that had caught his eye was most definitely a longbow. It’s overall length was 6 feet and maybe a few extra inches. Meaning few Konti women could even draw the string back. On top of that the bow was recurbed meaning it had quite the extended range and power as well. It was ivory colored and looked to have three layers to it. The middle most layer looked to be made of bone helping to further drive the immense power the bow housed; the other two layers seemed to be made of white yew. There were interesting engravings along the bows grip. It also looked like it had three arrow rests as well. An interesting addition that he just noticed.

“Isn’t it marvelous?” He said as he admired it some.

Crashing (Angelique)

Postby Angelique on June 7th, 2011, 2:13 pm

"Well maybe now you may be able to attend a celebration if you are not too busy." The Konti noted briefly as she thought about going to a summer celebration herself. She decided that she would make time in her schedule to do be there for at least one celebration. Angelique broke from her thoughts as she heard Serrif’s decision. “The Pearl Divers Inn is a fine choice for eating.” The tone in her voice had not changed from the bubbly happy one that it seemed to be stuck in as she spoke.

When they had approached the shops, Angelique could not help but notice where Serrif seemed to be looking. The Konti took note of the bow that had caught his eye. She pondered for a moment about the bow. When she heard him speak about it, she had already decided that she would return to this shop when she were alone. There wasn’t very much in this shop that caught her eye.She had pondered buying herself a tent since she loved the outdoors so much. Being outside made her feel like she was one with everything nature related. But where she planned to keep her tent, she had not decided yet. Maybe I shall set up my tent at the beach or maybe in the woods. Angelique thought for a moment before deciding that the beach would be the more logical of places. “That is a lovely composite bow, I suppose. Although I have not seen too many that I can compare it to.” She noted before her thoughts began to trail off to something else.

The Konti’s thoughts shifted to something other than the shops and what she planned on buying. She began thinking about what she wanted to do for a job now that she were in Mura. There were all kinds of things to do, but not many of which she had the skills for. Maybe I could be a scribe. After all I do know how to write. That or maybe I could make things from clay and sell it to people since I do have some skill in pottery. Angelique pondered hard on this for a moment before concluding that she still had some time to carefully think about her options. She would just wait for now before making her final decision on what it was that she wanted to do. “Onward to The Pearl Divers Inn?” The Konti asked him, noting that he was obviously hungrier than he had been before they started their trip.
