Scarred, Cursed and Ready [Conrad][Open]

“Very funny kid, but at least I can say a god knows me by name now.” Sighed Trios begrudgingly accepting the evil bird as Conrad ranted about not doing anything stupid or insane. What was he a pet sitter now? Allowing the beast to rest on his stiff shoulders Trios eyed the creature with cold eyes wondering if it was going to stay silent till its master returned. But there was a small chance of hope that the bird might behave itself, like the same odds of Zulrav coming down from the sky to apologise for his actions.

“All have you know I’m no good with animals!” Trios growled after Conrad when the human went off to require his belongings. Trios’s gaze shifted to the pouch of nuts and seeds that Conrad had given him. Maybe if he fed the creature a few treats now it would remain silent and un-annoying for the time it took to build a tent.

Maybe if he fed the entire bag to the beast it would leave him alone for the entire week? That seemed like a better idea. So the Isur hobbled to a clear patch of earth on the campground tossed the open bag of nuts before setting the bird down.

“There you go, now eat till your two full to even talk or annoy me” Chuckled Trios darkly watching the parrot tear though the free range of food on the ground. It was as if Trios had given him the most ample supply of food the bird had ever seen, because it appeared that all the attention that the bird could give was focused on the food.

Grinning madly Trios hobbled back to the half set up tent. It took only a few moments before the one person tent was full erect and pegged down into the earth for support. The next order of business was to set up a decent fire. This proved to be uneventful as Trios needed only a few strokes of the flint and steel to alight a small bundle of grass that the Drykas used to fuel their fires. It amazed the Isur that some grassland plants could burn like tinder and wood. The smell from such a fire was also so appealing that Trios decided to give him self a smoke bath which was to simple use the smoke as a means to burn away all of the foul smells that clung to him.

Trios had almost forgotten about the bird before it came hobbling back to Trios a bit rounder than it had originally had been. This caused Trios to bark out a laugh at the bird’s inability to fly at the moment thanks to the amount of food it had consumed. But this thought of food made Trios’s stomach growl as the bird clumsily climbed it way up Trios’s leg.

Looking at the stuffed bird than at the fire Trios eyes seemed to scream that he knew exactly what to have for dinner…

As Conrad returned to the now complete campground he would find the Isur slumped over a the low burning fire. In his left hand was a metallic skewer to which held a small cleaned bird now slowly roasting over the fire. Not being the greatest of cooks Trios was waiting for the first sign of burnt meat to indicate that the meal was ready.

“I got food for us, please ignore my cooking cus its worth shit…..O and your bird sleeping from all the food so I put it in the tent” Nodded Trios looking from Conrad to the small chicken that he was roasting on the fire.

Storyteller Notes

This was a good read. I enjoyed the background information that was given about the history between the characters and may have to go looking for other related threads to read when I have the time. I gave you a two in both survival and cooking for setting up the tent and the fire, as well as cooking the chicken, cooking it over a low fire, and looking for signs of it being burnt as a way to determine it being done.

You points in Cartography for the way you described the alterations you had made to the maps and describing the purpose behind those alterations, etc. I also like that you provided an example of what you were talking about, because I had no clue at first.

If you could also deduct 3 to 5CM from your ledger for the chicken that you're cooking, as you had to have obtained that chicken somehow. If you want to go back and edit in how you obtained the chicken without purchasing it, I'd be happy to let you do that. If it's a whole chicken, deduct 5 CM. If it's not a whole chicken and only a partial chicken that you obtained from a butcher or something, only deduct 3CM.

If you have any questions or concerns about the rewards you obtained, please feel free to send me a PM about it. If you feel that I've not given you experience or lore for something that you feel you deserve, I'd be more than happy to take a second look at the thread.
